Abolish ICE

Post by kalm »

Lawless agency. This is not proper law enforcement and they are not being reigned in. Trump is either ok with that or has lost control of his government. There’s no in between.

This is the stupid (yes, stupid times) trap we get into these days with most political speech. It's all or nothing. God forbid we find the middle ground, like say, fix what's wrong with ICE's enforcement policies and procedures, including prosecuting ICE officials who cross the legal line, while also effecting real change at the border and other points of entry (i.e. airports), long term, in terms of enforcement and visa overstay followups to minimize the number of unauthorized migrants who enter the country in the first place. Instead, we aim for click bait, we aim for who shouts the loudest and who has the cleverest or most mocking meme, and that's how we do politics today. It's no wonder we end up with the Trumps and Newsomes of the world when we practice politics this way. When our political discourse is "abolish ICE" and "deport all immigrants" we get what we exactly have - stupid times.

Where were you during the Obama years and Biden when ICE was doing all this? You apparently were okay with it then.

You can admit you really don't care. This is just another tribal bitching point.

Screaming? Nah…I calmly posted that with intentional hyperbole. But shit is real and there are countless examples. Some of these things that have already happened will affect our country for decades even with repair. To deny that is the height of ignorantly putting your hands over your ears, covering your eyes and hoping it will all just return to normal. That attitude is of course childish and completely ignores history. The normalcy you hope to return to is gone. Change is universal in that way. That doesn’t mean new, more pleasant normals than today can’t be achieved. I believe just as strongly that they can. But that requires work, resistance, and refusal to accept what’s being done. If not to you personally than to your country and fellow man.

Without that, things can get far worse yet with very little standing in the way including the courts.

Cry me a fooking river. ICE 10/25 reported 527,000 removals, so probably 600-700k arrests in 9 month. If ICE is now arresting upwards of 3k a day, there’s going to be a couple of daily click bait fuck ups that will go viral. That is your ‘endless examples’ that the left will will use to bloviate that see how eeevil ICE is they are a bunch of fascists blah blah.

I’m sure you’d be with it if it were you. In fact isn’t a part of the constitution that says “We must break a few eggs to make an omelette”?

ICE is now a lawless agency run by lawless leaders. You might be fine with that but reasonable people who believe in America are not.

Wrong. Just the far left wants to abolish ICE. Nothing new. The leftards were calling for abolishing ICE during Trump I also. Reasonable people know ICE has a gargantuan task because of 4 years of open borders under Biden, don’t expect there to be 3k perfect arrests a day, and want the law enforced.

I'm with Ganny on this one. ICE serves a valid purpose and doesn't need to be abolished. We need to put reasonable adults back in charge who will reform ICE and use it for its valid purpose.

Same with CBP. People like Bovino need to be investigated and likely tried for their crimes. Fear of this happening is part of what is driving the Republican redistricting push. They have to stay in power to prevent/delay the investigations and trials that are likely to follow a shift in power.

I agree. I’ve ankways stated on here annd especially since Trump 1 that protecting our borders and controlling immigration are core elements of our governments responsibilities. The way it’s being handled currently is not acceptable. Lower courts and governors agree.

“Abolishing ICE” was intended hyperbole. Repairing ICE on a massive scale and returning it to a highly trained and responsible agency who follows the constitution and answers to the public is not.

I did many ride alongs with my BiL when the was a road deputy. We also had long discussions about the police guild when he was appointed undersheriff. My first cousin ran drug interdiction in North Idaho and did undercover work before he too became an undersheriff in his birder county. A close friend and youngster I mentored to replace me as GM if the golf course iljust completed the academy and is now a road deputy.

How do you know what’s posted is fake news? Did BDK’s MAGA influencers who redid Sri Lanka tell you it was so?

Exactly

Notice how the guys on here that have never done one second of law-enforcement in their entire pristine lives like to preach about what the LE line is…

Besides that, half of that crap they post about ICE is fake news
I did many ride alongs with my BiL when the was a road deputy. We also had long discussions about the police guild when he was appointed undersheriff. My first cousin ran drug interdiction in North Idaho and did undercover work before he too became an undersheriff in his birder county. A close friend and youngster I mentored to replace me as GM if the golf course iljust completed the academy and is now a road deputy.

How do you know what’s posted is fake news? Did BDK’s MAGA influencers who redid Sri Lanka tell you it was so?
Ride alongs

You didn’t have any law-enforcement authority, and if something went down, you would be hiding in the backseat

If Obama was in office, there would be no protest against ICE and they would be able to do their jobs without being attacked and worked against by local TDS government …

Pedo Joe? He's long gone but the stain of you voting for him will live on forever. You didn't even care he was unable to perform the duties of POTUS.
