Like Biden, Trump has an inflation problem. Unlike Biden, Trump’s is self-inflicted
The evidence, both anecdotal and quantitative, is piling up: Inflation is back with a vengeance.

Two back-to-back reports this week showed painful price increases across the economy, and they’re not going away soon. Consumers are flagging, pummeled by years of high prices and the sense that no one in power really cares.

“I don’t think about Americans’ financial situation,” President Donald Trump told reporters when asked whether the strain on Americans was a consideration in his negotiations with Iran.
...
Much like his predecessor, Joe Biden, Trump has an inflation problem. The difference is that the price surges happening on Trump’s watch are indisputably, directly linked to his policy decisions: namely, tariffs and the Iran war. Not even Biden’s harshest critics can argue in good faith that he somehow caused a global pandemic before taking office or that his policies prompted Russia to invade Ukraine.

Of course, there are plenty of fair critiques of Biden’s handling of the aftermath of those two inflationary events. His administration injected nearly $2 trillion into the Covid economy, which propped up consumer demand and likely made inflation worse. Its signature Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 was arguably too little, too late to have a meaningful impact on voters, who, obviously, didn’t give him a second chance.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

lol I stopped reading right there. Biden’s inflation was almost entirely self inflicted. This has been laid out before by several of us, including GF

Trump has some fault- 900 trillion big Covid Bill #2 when Trump was on his way out the door.

As far as Biden:
-1.9 trillion big Covid Bill #3 shortly after Biden entered office.
This increased the extended, enhanced unemployment not to work for up to 1.5 years, causing labor shortages and a spike in labor costs.
An eviction moratorium for up to 1.5 years.
Most households got 3 rounds of stimulus $$$ ($3,200 per adult and 2,500 per child, ($11,400 for a family of 4) that spiked inflation even further). There was already large #s of Covid shots being given out by late Jan 2021, and the worst of the pandemic was behind us.
-1.2 trillion so called infrastructure bill
-.75 trillion New Green deal.
-Several hundred billion for Ukraine
+Other shit I am forgetting. About 5 trillion in extra $$$ from the magic $$$ trees in DC under Biden alone.
It was pouring gasoline on a fire. Speaking of gas, the Biden admin war on big oil didn‘t help- remember gas under Biden hit $5+.

The Biden admins fiscal policies contributed bigly to high inflation, and were mostly self inflicted. For the article’s headline to say otherwise is complete garbage.

Inflation under biden had many contributing factors. russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine being a key one. trump's COVID bill being another. biden then poured gasoline on the fire with his bills.

That doesn't change the reality that trump's war with Iran and the economic impact is entirely his fault.

The headline said Biden‘s wasn‘t self inflicted, period, as in zero was self inflicted, when clearly at least a large chunk was (you could argue most was).

The headline - "Like Biden, Trump has an inflation problem. Unlike Biden, Trump’s is self-inflicted" is accurate. trump's is 100% self-inflicted. biden's wasn't.

BDKnitpicking again in an attempt to distract from the real issue which is that trump's war with Iran and the economic impact is entirely his fault.
