I agree with this as well but do the vaccine(s) slow the spread? If you don't get infected (and they reduce the chance that you become infected in the first place), you can’t pass it on. If you do get infected, do the vaccines reduce how infectious you are or shorten the period during which you’re infectious?

I agree that the vaccines are less effective than natural immunity but are they "far less effective"? Do you have peer-reviewed scientific studies to back up this assertion? Isn't there also a potential trade-off? It is my understanding that getting Covid while unvaccinated tends to be more severe then getting infected while vaccinated.

• while the "shot" didn't stop the spread it did slow because people who didn't get infected couldn't spread it and vaccinated people who did get Covid tended tended to clear the virus more quickly on average then those that weren't vaccinated.
• Masks were not ineffective. Their effectiveness depended on the type of mask, fit, and how consistently they were worn. Even a loose-fitting cloth mask was likely better than no mask at all, though its effectiveness was limited. Better-fitting masks provided substantially more protection.

We are uncertain whether wearing masks or N95/P2 respirators helps to slow the spread of respiratory viruses based on the studies we assessed.

Hand hygiene programmes may help to slow the spread of respiratory viruses.
