Wall Street Journal EIC on the rise of the left...

Most of the causes of America’s economic dysfunction is a result of a capitalism that has mutated into a system run by and for large corporate interests. If you look at America today and see a perfectly functioning free market economy, a neoliberal utopia guided by the invisible hand of Adam Smith, you need to take off the rose-tinted spectacles and take a closer look. Oligopoly level industrial concentration in almost every sector. Endemic cronyism. The application of regulation, legislation, and policy for the benefit of big companies. A ruinously expensive health care system run principly for the benefit of insurers and pharmaceutical companies. In short, the steady accretion of market, economic, and political power by a business political class that promotes it’s own well-being at the expense of competition, the market, and ultimately the people."

Spot on. And it’s coming from both parties. This is not capitalism and the change pre-dates Trump administration.

It echoes why and how FDR saved capitalism from itself.

I heard all of this nonsense back in 1980 and there were rich people but they never made me envious or jealous at all

You just have to realize that it takes hard work and due time and you have to find alternative ways to get around a lot of the stuff you mentioned…. All legal

I'm sure all the business special interests are just interested in preserving fair free market capitalism and not just trying to stack the deck in their favor.
