Don’t act like Iran didn’t take 51 hostages during Carter’s presidency. It’s just the fact, you don’t have to publicly wet your pampers about it

And you bringing Trump into Carter’s presidency is not a deflection is it
I was just pointing out a bright spot in Carter's "bad 4 year run" and you, a trump worshipper, brought up the Iran hostages which made trump's Iran debacle fair game. Is it my fault that Iran humiliated both Carter and trump? No, it isn't.

Who was constantly crowing about how trump would make the US respected again? maQa yahoos, that's who. Who is triggered when it's shown that he has failed miserably in that regard? maQa yahoos, that's who.
Carter did indeed work on 3rd world relations and support. And don’t forget, those hostages were negotiated to be released after the 1980 election by Reagan’s people. (And that’s well accepted fact now incuding eyewitness accounts).

Economy wasn’t great in 1980 and those people made out just fine…..
Another but, but, but, deflection as your jibes don't land and you try and change the topic but I'll play anyway and continue to school you on how horrendous of a POTUS trump 0.2 is.

We had a President in 1980 who was an adult and could work with the opposition to improve the situation rather then pretending to govern via Lie Social posts like some sort of social media influencer living in his mom's basement.
I was just pointing out a dim spot in Carter's "good 4 year run" according to Klamdami and you, a Joey Rotten worshipper, tried to dodge the Iran hostages fiasco which made Jimmy Boy Iran debacle fair game

Well we started with how Carter did some positive things. The hostage situation was not a good thing. However, it’s a rather obvious part of Jimmy’s presidency and it’s assumed everyone here was aware of it. You’re the person who has decided to keep bringing it up as though it’s some secret weapon for whatever the fuck it is you think you need to prove.

Typical CH irrelevant assertion. Now trying to save face and digging that hole a little deeper with each post. Next you’ll desperately try to revert back to Biden. Ooops…you just did!

Here’s one for you to wrestle with: bigger fiasco … 1979 hostages or the current war with Iran?

BS- he passed a massive 1.9t Covid bill #3, the ARP, when the economy was already recovering Covid, the 1st of about 5 trillion in extra fed govt spending along with the so called infrastructure and inflation reduction acts, etc.. All of that was fiat currency that if hadn’t been spent would have meant a lower inflation rate. Biden owns it.

And no, it was higher than the 20% Hen threw out there.
Grok: “What was the cumulative inflation under the Biden presidency?“
Jimmy Carter pased a Covid bill? :

Jimmy also gets credit for improving the US's respect in the 3rd world. He had some horrible policies and outcomes but under his leadership the US walked the walk and didn't just talk the talk when it came to human rights. Respect for the US went up a lot more under Carter then it has under trump.

Iran's nuclear program was already seriously degraded before this war started, so that point doesn't tell us much about whether Iran has humiliated Trump during the war. More importantly, the war may well have strengthened Iran's incentive to develop nuclear weapons rather than weakened it. If Iran concluded that it could be attacked despite giving up or limiting its nuclear capabilities, that gives the hardliners a powerful argument that the only reliable deterrent is eventually acquiring a bomb.

Iran’s conventional air force and navy have been devastated, but Iran deliberately built much of its military strategy around asymmetric capabilities—ballistic and cruise missiles, drones, mines, small boats, dispersed launchers, and proxies—rather than expecting its conventional navy or air force to defeat the U.S. Iran can still make the Strait dangerous with mines, missiles and drones. Losing the ability to control the Strait is not the same thing as losing the ability to disrupt it or impose costs on shipping.

Traffic in the Strait of Hormuz has increased dramatically from the near-shutdown earlier in the war, but it’s still nowhere close to normal.

Iran has endured sanctions and economic warfare for decades. The relevant question isn't whether Iran's economy is suffering—it obviously is. The question is whether the economic pain is sufficient to make the regime concede to Trump's political demands. So far, there’s little evidence of that. And the economic consequences aren't confined to Iran: the war has also imposed significant costs on the U.S. and global economy through higher energy prices, inflation, shipping disruptions and broader economic uncertainty.

Pipelines don’t make Gulf energy infrastructure immune to Iranian attack. They simply move some of the vulnerability elsewhere. The Houthis have demonstrated that relatively inexpensive drones and missiles can threaten shipping in the Red Sea, and Iran itself can use drones and missiles to target infrastructure well beyond the Strait. Pipelines reduce Iran's leverage over Hormuz; they don't eliminate its ability to wage asymmetric economic warfare.

And this is particularly relevant because Trump repeatedly told us that this was going to be a short war:
  • March 1: Asked how long the U.S. and Israel intended to continue the attacks, Trump said: “Well, we intended four to five weeks.”
  • March 9: He said, “I think you'll see it's going to be a short-term excursion.”
  • March 17: He said “A couple of weeks, it won't be much longer, it's moving along fast. We're way ahead of schedule.”
  • March 26: He said the U.S. had estimated “approximately four to six weeks to achieve our mission” and was already “way ahead of schedule.”
  • April 1: “The war is going to be over in three days. My prediction.”
  • May 4: He said they had taken out most of what they needed to and would need “probably another two weeks, two weeks, maybe three weeks.”
  • May 19: “I think we're gonna be finished with that very quickly.”
  • June 8: “You’re really going to win it over the next two weeks when we declare total victory.”
And he's repeatedly declared victory—his own personal mission-accomplished moment, set to Bill Murray's Groundhog Day:
  • March 9: “We’ve already won in many ways, but we haven’t won enough.”
  • March 24: “This war has been won.”
  • April 6: “We are the winner. We won.”
  • April 7: “Total and complete victory. 100 percent. No question about it.”
  • April 25: “We won everything. We have all the cards.”
  • June 11: “I don’t know if you heard, but we ended the war with Iran today.”
I'm not arguing that Iran has defeated the U.S. militarily. Obviously it hasn't. I'm arguing that military superiority and political success are two different things.

Iran doesn't need to defeat the U.S. military to humiliate an American president. It only needs to create a situation where overwhelming American military superiority fails to produce the political outcome the president repeatedly promised—and where the president repeatedly declares the war over, only for the conflict to continue.
