Sounds he followed policy to a the letter here. Rather than physically restraining here and possibly slipping something out of joint, a one second taze was used. Tough shit
Yeah he might have followed the policy to a tee here, but honestly....if YOU'RE the police officer, don't you worry about what your fellow police officers are going to think about you if you can't even restrain a 10-year old girl without a tazer?!?!  The guy is a pussy!
He restrains her with his hands and slips her shoulder out of joint, he is fucked so many times over. He restrains her by hand and she is fighting it and all of a sudden his hand slips somewhere it shouldn't be, there is a sexual harassment charge and he is fucked.

In the world we live in now, the tazer was the right way to go to avoid any other issues. Especially if he was attacked, had permission from the mother to use it, and didn't use it until policy called for it.

Hey, the TASER was likely the only force option open to him at the time. If she was acting like a little buzzsaw, then I say BRING THE JUICE!

If you manhandle a little girl and she gets hurt, you're screwed. Pop her with old sparky and you're covered.

Don't like it? Well then I have two words for you:

TORT REFORM.

(Eventually, a shot with the TASER will be an automatic, required prelude to handcuffs..)

Well, I don't disagree with that. But then, if the parents had whipped the sh!t out of her, then they'd be the ones in cuffs, unfortunately.

This is nanny state big government at work. Common sense just goes out the window.

I know plenty of parents that don't spank/whip their kids, and they turned out great.

I also know plenty of kids that raised total assholes, but still spanked/whipped them.

Spanking/beating is NOT effective parenting, if that is all you do.

You can be far more effective by being a TOTAL parent.
