Ivytalk and Cleets, you two are NO longer allowed an opinion. :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

The other common denominator is a lack of astrologers advising on policy.

 Maybe it's time to call them up.

Wierd. When there's more than ONE common denominator, it makes you question the intelligence of the average American voter. :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

I think a better comparison is Palin and Kerry. Both are probably capable of doing the job they were elected for, but are/were unable to defend themselves on the big stage in a national election. Kerry couldn't defend his war record while running against a guy who didn't have one. :ohno:

I doubt if Palin is as dumb as she seems, but she hasn't been able to shake that label.

As for Franken, he hasn't been on the big stage.

Well, I think she may be capable of governing Alaska. But that is about it. I definitely don't think she can handle VP or Pres., nor would I want to give her the chance.

Governing Alaska is the softest gig in public service, consisting entirely of making sure the oil money gets distributed to a population the size of St. Louis. The Palin's special child could do it on weekends

It is a troubling feature of modern America that many people (including members of the media) will wholeheartedly support a politician who espouses political views compatible with their own, without regard to the politician's competence. Palin is a lightweight; the second coming of Dan Quayle. If you believe in Palin's ideas, you should still seek a better candidate.

However, liberal Democrats do this too. Barack Obama is a flip-side example.

I don't know why all of you Nancies get your panties in such a wad over this broad. There is NO WAY...check it... NO WAY, NADA, 0% chance that Palin gets the 2012 nod. Give it up. The only thing more goofy than the lefties obsessing about her is the fact that Obama will be so Jimmy Carter by 2012 that she'd actually give him a run for his money.

You have hit on the main point, Joe. Most of the candidates put up by either party are lightweights. Pelosi and Obama, Queen and King of Farce, are prime examples.

The 2008 Election should have been between Hillary Clinton and Mitt Romney and we all know it.

Hopefully, we will at least get Romney in 2012.........if so, as of this moment.......I will vote for him over Obama.

I campaigned for and voted for Romney in the SC primaries. When he did not win the nomination I knew that it was over in terms of getting a true fiscal conservative into the White House.
