Donk's Caught Fabricating Lies Again: "OWNED"

Post by travelinman67 »

Once again, the Democrat Lie-Smear machine fails to do their homework.
(cross posted at AGS, as UNHWildcats thoughtlessly did a cut-and-paste of the below offenders article without checking the accuracy/credibility of the poster/author)

While posting a pile of melarky alleging McCain had "buried information about POW's left behind in Vietnam", http://forums.therandirhodesshow.com/in ... opic=10070 Democrat hate mongerer/liar talk show propogandist Randi Rhodes cited an article authored on September 18, 2008, by former NY Times columnist Sydney Schanberg (and author of the story which eventually became the famous movie "The Killing Fields" about post-U.S. occupied/controlled Cambodia, and the genocidal atrocities that occurred under the communist Pol Pot [whom Schanberg initially had supported], which resulted in the torture/murder of 2 1/2 million Cambodians by the Khmer Rouge in little over 5 years, while the U.N. and President Jimmy Carter turned a blind eye to the indescribable slaughter of Cambodians).
Failing once again to do "due diligence", a quick check reveals a LONG record of fabricated attack pieces by Mr. Schanberg, MOST NOTABLY AGAINST THEN DEMOCRAT PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE JOHN KERRY IN FEBRUARY, 2004 , which included (you guessed it) an allegation that Kerry "covered up voluminous evidence that a significant number of live American prisoners—perhaps hundreds—were never acknowledged or returned after the war-ending treaty"...story accompanied by image of Kerry burying POW-MIA's...

When John Kerry's Courage Went M.I.A.

Senator covered up evidence of P.O.W.'s left behind

Senator John Kerry, a decorated battle veteran, was courageous as a navy lieutenant in the Vietnam War. But he was not so courageous more than two decades later, when he covered up voluminous evidence that a significant number of live American prisoners—perhaps hundreds—were never acknowledged or returned after the war-ending treaty was signed in January 1973.

The Massachusetts senator, now seeking the presidency, carried out this subterfuge a little over a decade ago— shredding documents, suppressing testimony, and sanitizing the committee's final report—when he was chairman of the Senate Select Committee on P.O.W./ M.I.A. Affairs.

...but this shameful display of dishonest personal attacks doesn't stop with just politicians. Not satisfied merely attacking veterans, Mr. Schanberg condemned the U.S. Government accusing it of willfully "covering up" evidence of POW's and MIA's in his 1994 article entitled...

Did America Abandon Vietnam War P.O.W.'s? Part 1

A closer look at an ugly issue

It is not conspiracy theory, not paranoid myth, not Rambo fantasy. It is only hard evidence of a national disgrace: American prisoners were left behind at the end of the Vietnam War. They were abandoned because six presidents and official Washington could not admit their guilty secret. They were forgotten because the press and most Americans turned away from all things that reminded them of Vietnam.
Sometimes, documents show, the failure went beyond lack of effort and became just plain cover-up. Documents retrieved from the National Archives show that some of the radio intercepts were simply purged from U.S. government files, presumably to keep the bungling from ever being discovered by outsiders.
