I had previously considered TR's progressive pronouncements to be a minimalist corrective to robber baron excesses, but now I am not so sure. I am just fine with "an honest wage for an honest day's work," but Roosevelt said a hell of a lot more than that. Besides, by opposing Taft, who turned out to be as prolific a trust buster as Teddy had been, he gave the Presidency to the Wilson, who ushered in most of the truly evil and anti-Constitutional excesses of the past century.
