According to a buddy of mine who is W-S PD, once issued a CCW, you are subject to felony gun charges for minor offenses that people without CCW would be charged with misdemeanor. And the CCW doesn't afford you the right to carry into facilities that ban concealed weapons. So, his point & I agree is what are you gaining? Y0u have to go on record with the Feds & State, you cannot carry into facilities that ban concealed weapons & if you carry for protection, why not not carry openly which is legal in NC. Which person you think the criminal wants to approach? The person with no weapon/concealed weapon? Or the person with a sidearm strapped to their belt within easy reach?

I'd be wary about open carry in those areas. You'd probably have people calling the cops on you constantly. I guarantee if I walked into Wal-mart in Delaware with my Sig P220 on my hip, some people would panic. Would I want that hassle? Nope.

I'm seeing a few more people open carrying here in Virginia...in my county, it's not a real issue...but up in Arlington County, you might get that reaction...

But it's legal...and I've done it in warmer weather...but right now, without my CCP, it's no go...

The Wyoming State Legislature is hearing a bill today, Feb. 15, that would allow all state residents who are eligible (living in Wy. for over 6 months, no felony convictions in the U.S., no alcohol/drug related offenses or domestic violence offenses/restraints) pack with out having a permit.

Passes the house by a huge margin, looks like it's headed to the senate. That would leave only those who want to cross some state lines with their pocket rocket needing a state issued permit.

This one died in committee, so I guess since I do not have a concealed gun permit, I will have to not conceal mine.

Just as well, the ol' .300 don't feel too comfy stuffed in my pants.
