Jay Bookman Health care debate brings out the best in America … or not
3:04 pm March 17, 2010, by Jay
Demonstrators on both sides of the health care debate gathered Tuesday outside the district office of U.S. Rep. Mary Jo Kilroy, a Democrat from Ohio. The video below was shot by the Columbus Dispatch. Kilroy initially voted in favor of the bill, but has not yet taken a position regarding the Senate version.
Pay particular attention to the part beginning at .53 minutes. The sign held by the older man on the ground reads “Got Parkinson’s? I do and you might. Thanks for your help.”

So you're implying that Obama has changed very little and pretty much followed Bush's and the corporatist path?HI54UNI wrote:Duh. Look how many people bought this crap from the world's best fertilizer salesman.
I agree.
I doubt however that the dude throwing money at the the guy with parkinsons voted for Obama.

True dat, but it would have been the same shit from the other side a few years back. There is a great deal of moronic shit out there like the video represents. People started choosing what they are and rooting for their "side" quite a while back and the division gets stronger with each passing election. Everything seems to be going the way of the digital decision with everyone choosing up their side and rooting for "their guy" no matter how shitty the path looks. The USA is beginning to look a lot more like a team of selfish players looking to get their stats than a team that is more interested in winning.kalm wrote:So you're implying that Obama has changed very little and pretty much followed Bush's and the corporatist path?HI54UNI wrote:Duh. Thanks for the video but it makes me feel pretty sad for the direction of it all. Fucking ridiculous and without much thought on either side on this one.

My thoughts exactly, and that's why I didn't entitle the thread in a partisan way - although given the actions of the guys verbally attacking the parkinsons sufferer it would have been real easy to.Ursus A. I think it would be fun to get a blowjob from a chick with advanced Parkinson's.

While I don't agree with the behavior of the punk who tossed money at him, it's not as though the Parkinson's guy was minding his own business in his own little world and was suddenly attacked. He intentionally crossed the driveway and plopped himself...with a big sign...and an obvious attitude...in front of people who he knew were against Healthcare reform. He might as well have been riding on a Greenpeace vessel in front of a whaling ship.kalm wrote:My thoughts exactly, and that's why I didn't entitle the thread in a partisan way - although given the actions of the guys verbally attacking the parkinsons sufferer it would have been real easy to.Ursus A.
