I like where you're going. But, please, guit succumbing to the propaganda and mind control effort by using the term "Gays." It's "Homosexuals." "Homosexual" is the true, best term for what we're talking about. Use of the term "Gay" is the result of an intentional effort to control language in order to control perceptions.

Yup. It's just as bad as using the phrase "straight". Or "lesbian".JohnStOnge wrote:I like where you're going. Re: Alphas FABULOUS List of Gay Rights
Actually, it's not because using the terms "straight" and "lesbian" are not associated with a conscious effort to avoid use of the term "homosexual" in order to control attitudes to some extent. Think about it. How often do you see the term "homosexual" used nowdays? That's no accident.Yup. It's just as bad as using the phrase "straight". Or "lesbian".

Re: Alphas FABULOUS List of Gay Rights
Sure it is. "lesbian" is just as associated with avoiding the use of the term "homosexual". How often do you see the term "homosexual" used in reference to lesbians? Same thing.JohnStOnge wrote:Actually, it's not because using the terms "straight" and "lesbian" are not associated with a conscious effort to avoid use of the term "homosexual" in order to control attitudes to some extent. And I see the term "homosexual" used more often than "heterosexual".
I wasn't really aware that many homosexuals were offended by the use of the term "homosexual". "Gay" is just used more often because it is shorter to spell, and has fewer syllables to pronounce.
Re: Alphas FABULOUS List of Gay Rights
In my experience, however limited it may be, gay is frowned upon when used by a straight person way more often than it is allowed.JayJ79 wrote:Sure it is. I ain't using the fucking term homosexual when there is a readily available and well accepted 3 letter term that means exactly the same thing.
That's one of the homosexualest things I've ever heard of.

The term "gay" was probably first used by a heterosexual making fun of a homosexual. You reap what you sew a-hole!JohnStOnge wrote:I like where you're going.
