Now we're getting to the root of the immigration issue, the elephant in the corner no one wants to talk about, that no-one will admit is in the room. The immigrants are "wet" while we are "dry", ie, they're "different" than we are. We don't like "different". We want them to learn english so they're more like us. We want them to become as American as possible.GSUhooligan wrote:I agree. So we just let it continue? Sorry, but "good for business" is not reason enough to turn a blind eye to national sovereignty. And the reality, IMO, is that most Americans don't even care about deporting the current state law-abiding illegal immigrants currently working hard in our economy. They want the flow at the border stopped yesterday, they want a framework for the current illegals to start contributing taxes on the system they currently burden, they want them identified & registered so the criminal element can be deported ASAP & they want the non-criminal to make an effort to assimilate to our culture ie; learn english so we can communicate...
Personally, I don't give a crap if Pedro that picks my tomatos and strawberries or cuts up the cow that goes into my hamburger looks like me, talks like me, smells like me, he can be whatever the hell he wants to be, except a violent criminal. Thank you Pedro for all that you do for America.
