Because they wear helmets and carry guns? :?

All you police haters fuckin' slay me. When you're gettin' jacked on a lonely highway sometime I hope the fuckin' cop just rolls on by.

These guy are the "1%'ers" that CitGrad always talks about. You (JSO, etc) act like ALL cops act like this.

I think the fact that it is a SWAT TEAM negates the 1% argument. They sat down, planned this out, etc. It wasn't some guy that had been on patrol for hours and snapped.

Change the protaganists from cops to school teachers and ol' AZGiz would be sounding just like JSO.

Shut the fuck up with your high horse bullshit AZ. I (like you, and most others) have friends that are cops and they are great people. This is about this instance and the fact that there are a few instances like this stacking up fairly often anymore.

We need the good cops nobody is saying that they don't have respect for them. We don't need Mercenaries.

What's awesome is when guy like AZ's kids get jacked around by a cop and bruised up with a broken pinky or a black eye... The AZ's of the world are the first to go to court - when it's somebody else is when they are all sanctimonious and sh!t but that worm turns soon enough - every time...

I don't know if it's necessarily happening more often nowadays, but it's definitely more visible than it used to be with youtube and such. Which is a good thing, because it will hopefully make the ones who think they can get away with this kind of shit think twice.

Sanctimonious is the perfect word for the outlook on this one.

I back the cops play on at least 90-95^ of the stuff brought up on here and elsewhere but I ain't gonna do it when something looks as wrong as this one does. I take a little more pride in my integrity than just backing everything a group does and giving them complete impunity.

I considered that angle and you are probably right. One thing that is somewhat related is that it is no longer just the liberal mindset that takes notice. There seems to be a bit of an "us against them" thing going on with generally conservative minded people as well. There was a great discussion on Ron & Fez about it and it was uncanny how many "gun nut conservative" callers said that shit like this is one of many reasons they are stockpiling ammo, weapons, and so on. As was mentioned on the show it's getting real odd out there when people are arming up to protect themselves against not only home invasions but also the government, and the police.

It may not be more prevalent, but people THINK it is.

There IS no "point/counterpoint". These cops fucked up. No question about it--they should never have shot the dogs. But when guys like JSO use every isolated incident like this to gleefully make their point that all cops are bad and the profession "attracts a certain element", it makes me sick.

I'm 47 years old. I've never been roughed up by a cop. Never had my car searched, and things callously broken. Never had my front door beaten down and my house ransacked or my dog shot. Never been mistreated, talked down to, wrongly accused, shot at, maced, billy-clubbed, or tazed. Why, you might ask? Am I just lucky to have never encountered these countless "rogue" cops that seem to be everywhere? Not even close....it's becuase I make it a point to never be in a position where those things might happen. And the one time where I DID put myself in that position and found myself being frisked and field tested for sobriety by a group of 8 of Tolleson, Arizona's finest, they were all ultimate professionals (despite the ridiculousness of the situation and my outright stupidity).

So, while I might mourn for the two dogs that were needlessly shot in this incounter, I won't shed any tears of sympathy for the dumb fuck who knowingly committed a felony, then is "shocked" when they cops come-a-callin'.   If that makes me someone who is "just backing everything a group does and giving them complete impunity", so be it....but I'm not excusing what the cops did....

BS! When little native got sent to the pokey by a rookie zealot I let him sit there for a couple of days to reflect on his past and his future.

He was smart enough to keep his mouth shut and say yessir. Otherwise he could have gotten himself some well deserved bruises and that would have been fine with me.

Not to say we don't need to ride herd on the sociopaths.

Certain cops go completely overboard even if you are not guilty of anything and have a good alibi. There were a couple of cops that had it in for me due to shoddy police work.

I did not put myself in any situation that warranted the close supervision that went on for a while. The only thing I was guilty of was being in Red's having a couple of drinks and also having Red hair.

That's a story that is too long for me to feel like telling here though. I leave that to Cleets' book.

Because they wear helmets and carry guns?
No, because it looks similar. I've thought that for years when I see the outifts modern American law enforcement tactical units wear with the black and the helmets that call to mind WWII German military helmets, etc. The outfits they wear just call WWII German uniforms to mind. No, not identical by a long shot. But reminiscent.

To me, it'd be strange for someone to look at what they wear and not see the similiarity.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?
