Not surprising - it's no secret that the majority of blacks identify more closely with the Democratic party. The New Deal and Great Society under LBJ cemented the relationship. I'd hardly call it GOP racism, just an identification with big government.

Those numbers weren't just blacks. They were blacks, hispanics, and asians. GOP has zero blacks in Congress.

The New Deal was in the 1930's... when large numbers of blacks were in the GOP (the party of Lincoln). The shift came in the 1960's with Civil Rights legislation. Southern Democrats against Civil Rights legislation left the party for good. Minorities joined.

Images like these are why blacks left the Republican Party in droves.

The republican party has fewer minority members than the donks. That's a well-known fact.

The implication in the OP is that minority candidates have a harder time winning primaries in the republican party than in the democratic party, and there's really no proof of that. I'd bet you that well-funded and well-qualified minority candidates are just as likely to win republican primaries as they are democratic ones.

The republican party has fewer minority members than the donks. That's a well-known fact.

The implication in the OP is that minority candidates have a harder time winning primaries in the republican party than in the democratic party, and there's really no proof of that. I'd bet you that well-funded and well-qualified minority candidates are just as likely to win republican primaries as they are democratic ones.

If their opinions are at least half of what dominated the Republican party now, they will lose 99.9% of their campaign not matter how well funded or well qualified they are.

A good part of this can be attributed to gerrymandering but that doesn't change the validity of your point.
