Brown more popular than Obama, Kerry, in MA

Post by Col Hogan »

According to a Boston Globe poll, conducted by UNH, Senator Brown is more poplar in Massachusetts than the current President and the states senior senator...
A Boston Globe survey released Monday indicates that 55 percent of Bay Staters have a favorable opinion of Brown, with 18 percent saying they hold an unfavorable view of their new senator, 13 percent saying they have a neutral view and 14 percent unsure.

According to the poll, Brown's numbers are slightly higher than Obama's 54 percent favorable rating and Kerry's 52 percent favorable rating but within the survey's sampling error.

Brown, a little known Republican state lawmaker at the time, scored an upset in January's special election for the seat of the late Democratic Sen. Ted Kennedy. His victory gave the GOP 41 seats in the Senate, and dropped the Democrats to 59 seats, which meant Democrats lost the potential to avoid filibusters but marshalling 60 votes in the upper chamber.

Brown is up for reelection in 2012...

I bet the Yankees would give Obama a run for his money in the Bay State right now. :coffee:
