Today, some hussy leftist commentator in the International Herald Tribune was talking about how the spill doesn't look as bad as previously thought. Plus, it was in a column about how well Presidential children have tuened out over the last 20 years. Talk about a tangent.
W- the IHT is the Asian-international issue of the NYT.
Caveat- I am not minimizing the oil spill, I am just pointing out that even some of the Moonbats are saying that maybe things were a little chicken little for a while there. Maybe we'll have one of those plumes surface and bring us all back the global warming fuzzies.

Re: Where's the oil?
Natural oil seeps into the Gulf of Mexico at a rate of about 40 million gallons per year. That is more than twice the amount of oil released by the Exxon Valdez and it goes into the Gulf every year. The effects of this great natural oil spill are barely observable because the Gulf organisms metabolize it so quickly.
The local newspaper printed this morning that the net BP spill was about 170 million gallons of oil, or about 4 to 5 times the natural annual seepage. I’m not a biologist, but my guess would be that the bugs will ramp-up and in a few months most noticeable affects of the spill will be gone.
As for the underwater oil I’m a little skeptical. Fishermen troll for fish and academics, particularly the bottom feeders, troll for research dollars.
BTW pump the oil out of the Gulf and prevent this natural oil spill disaster, worse than the Exxon Valdez, from occurring every year!

That is what we have been trying to tell these kneejerk liberals but they cant feel good about that and we know the feel good mentality is what drives them, not common sense.oldsloguy wrote:Natural oil seeps into the Gulf of Mexico at a rate of about 40 million gallons per year. Re: Where's the oil?
ABC news reporting that 75% of the oil has been cleaned up or dispersed back into nature.
Only real damage to the seafood industry has been some oyster beds. Sounds like better than expected news.
