Re: cs.com Person of the Year
OK, I put this in the "Time Person of the Year Thread", but I would nominate General David Petraeus for what he accomplished...
He got the Bush Administration to change tactics in Iraq which has gotten us closer to a successful exit...he has exibited a rare quality of being a tactically successful military leader who can also work quite well in the diplomatic arena (as demonstrated by what he has done with the current governments in Iraq an Afghansitan)
He surrounds himself with smart people and IMHO, history will show his actions, more than any other one person, started reversing the damage done by the Bushies in the Middle East...

Re: cs.com Person of the Year
My nomination for person of the year? Kinda depends on the area.
Politics: Tie between Sarah Palin and Alyson Huber, the comeback kid in the CA Assembly (1500-vote swing on the last day of counting to hand King of the Liars Jack Sieglock his first ever election loss)
Sports: Annika Sorenstam, whose graceful exit from the golf world is to be admired by everyone
Business: Nobody.
Demons of the Year:
Politics: Rod Blagojevich
Sports: Detroit Lions, who literally stole $$ from their fans in terms of bogus product
Business: Those whining bank and auto CEOs

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
