Hawaii Election

Post by wildkyle »

DCCC is pulling out of the congessional race in Hawaii conceding the race to the GOP. They are saying there is too much infighting with the democrats. It will be another GOP pickup but it won't be the last.

Not sure how this special election works. Is it top vote getter wins or one of the cases where a runoff occurs if one doesnt get a certain percentage. There is one republican and two democrats running. In the latest poll the republican only has 36% while the two democrats have a combined 50% so its not so much demcrats facing backlash here. If its just this election and no runoff then the GOP likely takes the seat, but they would be hard pressed to hold it when it comes back up for election in November.

Djou (R) 36%
Case (D) 28%
Hanabusa (D) 22%

The republican is at 36% What has changed besides the fact that two democrats are splitting the vote. This is a circumstance where the GOP will win but it wont last, a one and done much like the fate of the GOP congressman in Louisiana who won Jefferson's seat.

No runoff in Hawaii. Plurality wins in this case. The real contest will be in the fall.

Hawaiians can't be trusted. They probably had Harry Reid's son rig the voting machines.
