Shouldn't you have to pay taxes to get a tax cut?

If fascism ever comes to America, it will come in the name of liberalism. Ronald Reagan, 1975.

Chuck "Mr. Triangulation" Schumer now proposes a compromise: let the Bush tax cuts stick for 2 years UNLESS you make $1 million+ instead of $250,001.

Jeezus...
If we all just incorporated ourselves none of this would matter at all
Corporations have more rights than citizens - pay less taxes - are not held accountable - and can fold up shop whenever they feel like it to protect themselves. Individual who incorporate can show very close to ZERO income while banking as much money as possible...
Why bother being a citizen..?
This country is designed for corporations to succeed not tax paying citizens

Re: Tax Cut Battle
There AREN'T GOING TO BE ANY TAX CUTS. Congress is debating 2 things, either:
-Keeping tax rates the same.
-Instituting a massive tax increase.
There ARE NO TAX CUTS being talked about. NO ONE will have lower tax rates next year. So why do morons keep talking about tax cuts?

Simple solution - lower, flat income and corporate taxes, and a VAT. That basically sums up the Domenici/Rivlin bipartisan debt reduction task force's findings:

US citizenship is cheaply bought and getting cheaper. Maybe we could try the Roman model?

The VAT is kinda sneaky, Robbie. Makes it hard to control and easy to get out of control.Rob Iola wrote:Simple solution - lower, flat income and corporate taxes, and a VAT. That basically sums up the Domenici/Rivlin bipartisan debt reduction task force's findings:

How about just a low flat personal tax and low corporate taxes?

Re: Tax Cut Battle
I'm in favor of a VAT, as long as other taxes are reduced. If I see that my tax money is actually going to improve education, infrastructure, the financial enviroment, I wouldn't have a problem paying my share.Rob Iola wrote:Simple solution - lower, flat income and corporate taxes, and a VAT.
