Just joining the fray, of course no liberal generalization flags thrown out. Anyways, It was all the rage in 2000 about Bush getting nominated because of Nepotism and his dad. (I'm not talking cronism, which is equally as bad on both side--no generalization there, just a fact).
What else is extrapolated and assumed? I feel the same about D1B's post stating she (Caroline Kennedy) is qualified based on name and college. That assumes quite a bit, especially when you consider other Harvard grads.
Just point out that things despised on one side exist on the other. Ralph didn't like it when I did that on AGS...guess it's the same here.
Oh, bullsh*t, Mountie. That's what I thought you'd say. I, myself, don't recall any "nepotism" sh*t at all back then. Dad didn't grease any skids for him.
MOF, Dad was still a bit of a pariah back then. Dubya won on his own (and I hate to say this), gulp, "merit".
Then, re CK, he was comparing her to Community College Cathy from Alaska. There's no comparison. Simple as that. You're dealing in
gross superficialities, bud.
Finally, fvck Ralph and fvck AGS. Ralph ain't here and this ain't AGS.
Hear?
Sounds a bit like your posts. Not trying to be a dick, but it's not just the righties here that do that. I don't know how to say what I've already said, but I did not compare her to Palin. I said Palin was a joke, but the idea of CK being qualified for her post is a joke too. I'm not comparing them or their "merit."
As to Bush, even you have to admit CK doesn't have the "merit" Bush had. She has her name and her good deeds, he had at least held public office. Maybe you don't remember the nepotism back in 2000 (too much pigeon love maybe

), but I do (I'm SAD to say I worked for his campaign locally--we all have regrets...so we heard it a lot).
Can you please tell me why you're defending her so much? Because she's a liberal elite? I'm really not understanding, for someone who defends the poor--why a rich, white girl, whose daddy was president, deserves to receive a [lifetime] appointment. Again, I am not saying she wouldn't do a fine job, but isn't there anyone else in NY that has done something besides live off of her family's money? Many people would love to do the work she's done, but they don't have nest eggs (they didn't earn) to do such work. That's a fact, no superficialities there.
Sometimes people with differing opinions have valid points. Luckily you haven't said I am Rushgergetating...just saying...it's not bullshit, I know it happened. Still doesn't change the point, but I'll drop the nepotism if that's a bit of concern.
Why does she deserve to be a Senator? What has she done that shows she understands the economy, federal government workings, foreign policy? She wouldn't even answer the questions...honestly, what has she done that shows she is ready to be a United States Senator?
I don't have to defend Palin, I didn't vote for her...and wouldn't. Thank God I didn't make the same mistake as I made before (voting against someone--thus voting for a massive tool).
