I know North Carolina has to have more Christian political power. Pretty cool about the payday lenders though. Our legislature doesn't get much right, but that was one instance.


(Of course now all people have to do is drive across the border.)

Had a local story from Billings right before Christmas. This gal has been coming in for a payday loan for each of her last six pay periods. They charged her fifty bucks of her $300.00 pay check each time.

She says she can get no other loans, and has to have the money quicker to make ends meet.

It just ain't right.

I don't get it Wedge. With the occasional exception of South Carolina, each and every one of those states have been ran by Democrats (CHANGE!!) since the turn of the 20th century.

And, let's note that Illinois, Oh-how-I-hate-ohio, Michigan, Indiana and The People's Secular Republics of Vermont and California are heavy with these businesses too.

NC did ban these businesses, but that doesn't stop folks from WILLINGLY crossing the borders to use them.

So, what's your point?

As for payday loans, I think they are a scourge. But I guess those hell bent on self destruction will find another place to get bent over if they are outlawed.
