Yes, if I'm understanding your question directly, I know MADD is played a major role in creating the witch hunt atmosphere and was a major lobbying force in reducing the legal limit from 0.10 to 0.08. But I think the Federl National Highway Traffic Safety Administration was a factor as well. Also the whole culture of "traffic safety" professionals. I've gotten to the point where I tihnk we'd be better off on balance without these people. They look at their job as reducing traffic fatalities and no matter how much traffic fatalities are reduced they'll continue to say "that's not enough" and push for taking sometimes draconian action (like more severe penalties with "education" to intimidate the public).

Agree. I've always lived by the adage that if you're going to fok up, do it at 110%...don't half-ass it....I never blew below a .14 and topped out at .22 I believe...so I give her credit for giving it her all...

Don't the penalties get worse when you get in that range? I thought I remembered that NC had some laws that made a BAC in excess of some arbitrary number subject to higher penalties?

If by higher penalties, you mean alot more money, then yes...quyite a bit more....."mitigating factors" or extenuating circumtances" or something like that...Cid, you know the correct terminology?
