Which political party are you?
Which political party are you?
I went with 10 that have had nominations recently, so if you fall into one that hasn't had a nomination tough shit.

Re: Which political party are you?
I voted Libertarian. I'm a registered Republican, but this Republican Party is not truly what it used to be. I have sense found myself not voting for Republicans and I fit in quite nicely with Libertarians (which a co-worker tells me is the new hippy--not sure I would say that
).

I wish I had that sign.

Way to scew the poll you fuxor....hahawideright82 wrote:I voted the marijuana party. Just because. Realistically though I am probably closer to a libertartian.
I'm not sure where I fall. I thought I was a Republican, but I don't like parts of what they do. I'm thinking libertarian, but I'm not all for this free boarders thing that they are all for.
However, according to this graph http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison ... comparison I'm Liberatarian and Constitutional, which I guess makes me Republican?.
I know I'm Conservative, but after that I'm not sure where I fall.

I don't think many Libertarians are for open boarders. They believe what most Americans believe, that if you want to come into this country to be a benefit to yourself, your family, and this country...you are welcome. You need to do so legally. At least that's how I understand their position.clenz wrote:Way to scew the poll you fuxor....hahawideright82 wrote:I voted the marijuana party. Just because. We support the removal of governmental impediments to free trade. Political freedom and escape from tyranny demand that individuals not be unreasonably constrained by government in the crossing of political boundaries. Economic freedom demands the unrestricted movement of human as well as financial capital across national borders. However, we support control over the entry into our country of foreign nationals who pose a threat to security, health or property.
I've yet to find a party I agree with 100%, but I find myself agreeing with them a lot more than I do Republicans and even more so than Democrats. I would say I am a Libertarican.

- Since I'm bored i thought I would take that Wiki map, input my feelings on it and see where I fall
Left/Right - Right
Communitarianism vs. Individualism Economic Issues - Individual
Communitarianism vs. Individualism Cultural Issues - Mixed? Whatever you want to do within your home is fine but I don't want to see it...where does that fall?
Pacifism vs. Militarianism - Mixed. Stay the hell out of it, unless it is absolutely needed....and dammit we are to damn involved in the rest of the world right now
Free trade vs. Fair trade - Mixed...need a little of both
Progressivism vs. Conservatism - Conservatism
Legal Abortion - Strongly oppose, with an exception of a medical emergency to save the mothers life
Public financing of campaigns - Generally opposed
Same-sex marriage - Not sure. I used to be strongly opposed, but whatever you want to do within your home I don't give a shit. I just don't want to see it in public....that goes for you too straight people
Universal healthcare - Strongly oppose
Increased taxation - strongly opposed
Deficit spending - favors reduction
Illegal immigration - strongly opposed. No amnesty. If you want to be here fine, do it the right damn way, if you don't want to do it the right way...I hope you get deported instead of me having to pay taxes to support your ass in prison
Continue Iraq war - agree. I would like to end it, but at this point we are too far involved to end it right now. If we end it now and pull everyone out now, shit will hit the fan 100x's worse than it already has.
Capital punishment - favor, as long as it is 100% the right person. I don't want to pay for his ass to sit on death row.
Drug decriminalization - oppose
Gun control - touch my guns and I'll fcking shoot you in the face
State-sanctioned school prayer - why not? The government opens every day with a prayer why can't schools? If it offends you leave the damn classroom.
Taxpayer funding of private schools - strongly oppose

Party: Registered Republican but with the current ideology of the party, I'm much more a Libertarian.
Presidential Candidates (2012): Well, seeing as how I'll still be Constitutionally barred, I would stick with Ron Paul. Or a true conservative of his ilk.
Abortion: Opposed, except for certain situations. Supreme Court overstepped it's constitutional bounds by ruling in Roe v. Wade--should be a state issue.
Affirmative Action: Discrimination is wrong, even reverse discrimination.
Bush/Cheney Administration: Big government, left wing, neo-cons.
Capital Punishment: Opposed. Who am I to determine who lives and dies? The government should not have that power. It does not work as a deterrent.
Censorship: Only in cases of blatant obscenity.
Cuba: Lift the embargo.
Current Congress: All who voted to give war declaring powers to the president and voted for the PATRIOT Act should be voted out of office.
Economy: We're experiencing an economic crisis and the Bush/ Obama stimulus packages are not the solutions. You cannot spend your way out of debt and lack of credit.
Education: Eliminate No Child Left Behind. Put control of schools back to the state and local level. Only in Washington can it make sense for teachers to be employed by the county/ city, paid by the state, and regulated by the federal government.
Electoral College: Necessary to ensure candidates campaign in more sparsely populated states. Combining the popular vote and EC could be a compromise, much like the systems in Nebraska and Maine.
Energy: Offer incentives to develop alternative sources of energy as a national security issue. Eliminate the need for foreign energy and eliminate the need for the Middle East. Nuclear energy is a must and is also a clean energy--a win-win.
Flag Burning: Protected by the First Amendment and should remain that way.
Foreign Policy: Quit policing the world and always attempt a diplomatic resolution with war as a last option. Talk to our enemies as opposed to not listening and thus leaving the only option of war.
Free Trade: For the most part support it, but do not believe agreements between leaders are not necessary to achieve a true free market.
Gay Rights: They should have no more rights than anyone else. In regards to marriage, government should not be involved in any marriage, gay or straight. To those who support gay marriage--wake up and realize it's the government keeping you from getting married. Join the right fight and work to get government out of all marriage.
Global Warming: Probably being exarggerated on the environmentalist side and being downplayed on the other side. GW is probably a result of natual Earth cycles and human pollution. We should all look at ways to reduce pollution.
Globalization: Seems to be inevitable at this point. However, I am much more of an isolationist than many. We need to focus on our own issues before getting involved in others. We need to quit trying to build an empire.
Gun Control: As little as possible. The Second Amendment provides for the right to bear arms and should be strictly enforced.
Healthcare: Socialized medicine is a bad idea. Government needs to stay out of public life, over regulation will lead to more problems.
Illegal Immigration: Absolutely opposed to John McCain's amnesty bill. I support deportation of those who have invaded our country. We need to eliminate the Border Patrol and INS and bring the troops home and put them on the border. That is the purpose of the military.
Marijuana Legalization: Don't have a problem with medicinal marijuana. I am in favor or legalizing industrial hemp. I feel marijuana possession should be like speeding. You receive a ticket and your marijuana is confiscated. But, no more sending people to jail for years.
Media Bias: Many media outlets have a left leaning bias, whereas some have a right leaning bias. I watch/ listen them all to get all angles. Against the "Fairness Doctrine."
Presidential Candidates (2008): Ron Paul
Right to Die: I don't think we should be allowing for doctor assisted suicide, so-to-speak. I do feel that the government needs to stay out as much as possible. The Terri Schiavo case comes to mind, that was blatant involvement in a family decision and those who supported government intervention are no better than Hitler or Stalin.
School Prayer: I do not have a problem offering a moment of silence, but forcing kids to pray to one particular deity I believe is wrong.
Separation of Church and State: This phase does not exist in the Constitution. There is no Separation of Church and State. The founders allowed for religion in the public square, just not the establishment of a government religion.
Social Security: In my mind this is how my policy would work. If you were born before 1980 you would continue to pay into the system and you would get your benefits. If you were born after 1980 you quit paying into the system and will receive no benefits. Government should not be involved in retirement planning.
Stem Cell Research: Opposed to federal funding. Private companies should be allowed to use embryos that would otherwise be discarded, but not create embryos just to use for research.
Supreme Court: Has become too powerful. Now legislates and interprets law. Falls outside of the constitutional restraints on power and needs to be reigned in by Congress.
Taxes: Against income taxes. If we must have an income tax I support a flat percentage tax. I am beginning to like the idea of the Fair Tax. Completely opposed to the "Progressive" tax which turns the government into Robin Hood. Against most taxation except where necessary.
The Constitution: Should be strictly interpreted and thus, is not a living document.
Unions: Really don't serve much of a purpose anymore, what with the government regulating companies so much.
United Nations: A shame to the world, US should withdraw support from UN.
War in Iraq: Should not have been waged, Congress did not declare war (required by Constitution). Need to stabilize as much as possible and come home.
Wiretapping: Should not be done in secret on US citizens without a warrant. Bush's wiretapping policy is reminiscent of the days of Stalin.
