I never said I was against that. I'm not financially supporting oppressive viewpoints. there's a difference.
But a corporation isn't a single entity. It's a collective group of people, all whom have different viewpoints and values, that are working together to bring you a product. Your money isn't just supporting the owners. It's supporting the livelihoods of many people, from lefty hippies to neocons and everything in between.

Even a privately owned company where the owner IS the company?

I understand that there are gay Chick-fil-A employees. But when a company funds organizations that are set up to deny me life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, then I am not going to support that company.

Chick-fil-A is unAmerican, if you think about it. All true American patriots should avoid it.

I mean, really, I dug this stuff up in the last 5 minutes. Who knows how much worse it gets if you dig a little deeper.
I was mentioning Uganda because that's where they seem to be passing laws like that. Not sure what any of these US groups have to do with that. As for your quote and first youtube link... I thought you didn't like when people take soundbites out of context. :? The second link is a messy webpage, but from what I can see, it looks like lobbying against gay marriage. Perhaps it's not so easy to find things that show "support of the death penalty, exportation, and imprisonment of gay people".

If you supported Chick-fil-a today, you financially supported campaigns to give the death penalty to people who commit a victimless crime.
I am not familiar with Exodus International but to get all in a tither about groups like Focus on the Family and the Family Research Council is ridiculous. I guess those two groups are among those "homosexuality is normal" activists refer to as "hate groups" when they say Chick-Fil-A supports "hate groups."

But you need to understand the Liberal/Progressive lexicon and translate it. "Hate," in that lexicon, means "disagreeing with us."

I really like the one about how horrifying it is that Focus on the Family thinks transgenderism is mental illness. REALLY? OMG! Like anyone with a lick of common sense wouldn't think the same thing.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth

So are laws saying that a man can't marry a cow denying that man his right to the pursuit of happiness? I mean, what if that's what would make him happy?

But don't you support dog fighting and cock fighting because they're "just animals"? Now you're comparing animals to people?

Whatever works for your dim, dark worldview, I guess.

Marriage is a contract. A man can't marry a cow because a cow can't enter into a contract, a man can own a cow and spend as much time with it as he chooses.

I was surprised to learn today that there is a Chick Fil-A in Paramus at the Paramus Park Mall. This came as news to me because largely because I can't remember the last time I shopped at Paramus Park.

Anyway, I learned this exciting piece of information from the local paper, which reported on "Appreciation Day" events at the store. This story included the news that, because there are so few Chick Fil-As around here, some in attendance said they drove 120 miles to stand in line to buy a sandwich and support Chick Fil-A. Really?? :dunce:

Brothers Richard and Edward Plain, of Milford, Conn., drove an hour and a half. “I’m very proud to be here,” said Richard Plain. “We’re not anti-anything. We’re pro-the right to speak your mind,” he said.

I don't give a fuck if someone wants to marry their toothbrush, much less their gay lover, but I might just go to CFL tomorrow, buy a few dozen of their nasty ass sandwiches, and mail them to a coupla you self righteous assholes. How many sandwiches did u buy last year YT? Betcha cfl won't notice the loss. They're laughing at you schmucks while they count all the money you numb nuts made them today. Schmucks.

This argument again? Maybe I'm missing the hint that would clue me in that this is just slippery-slope bullshit and part of your act, but for fuck's sake, man. Allowing two dudes to get married or be in a civil union ain't going to lead to people marrying livestock. We are never going to legalize anything that

1) isn't between adults; and
2) isn't consensual and between those capable of forming consent.

I'm sure you're bummed right the fuck out about both of those qualifiers on a personal level. Ahem.

Really, shouldn't you consider sitting out conversations about sexual mores? You know, because of what you've said about fucking children? Couch it in biology and liberty all the hell you like, but I remember getting the distinct impression you fantasize about finger-banging 14-year-olds.

Well, so far its come up on the ballot in 32 states, and in all 32 it has passed on keeping marriage between a man and a woman. It doesn't matter what the majority of Americans thinks, it matters what the majority of voters think.
Basic civil rights should never be put to a referendum by a majority that will not be affected in the slightest by their passage and exercise.

And, the logic works. If you want a "hands clean" approach that encompasses non-violence and a goody-goody world, you can't pick and choose your battles. Boycott ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING that is connected in any way to the issues to which you object.

Obama...kills innocent people.

The fashion industry...consistently uses waifs to promote their clothes...causing little girls to compare their bodies to impossible standards. And an awful lot of clothing is made in Third World countries that pay people pennies to slave away so that fashionistas can make tons of money. Sure, all of them might not be gay, but that's not really the point. You sure should be boycotting any clothing that promotes anything but a healthy lifestyle and a living wage. Otherwise, you are a willing participant in the repression of others.

Heck, the Olympics, in almost every country in which they are held, simply plows down people's homes, forcibly removing them, and then barricades them off from the wealthy visitors in order to put on a show so that a few people can make gobs of money on the backs of the populace.

You are living in a country where wealthy families imported slaves while our government killed off native people just because they were in the way. Yup. So, go research all of those families and make sure you don't support any business that might have been started with any of that inherited money. And, of course, make sure you don't drive on any highways that are on land that might have been grabbed and profited from by our saintly predecessors.

Here's an idea...why don't you barricade yourself inside a box so that you don't cause any ripples in the space-time fabric...those ripples can cause someone to get hurt feelings. :thumb:

You are correct sir. However, the fashion industry isn't just clothing. The fashion industry is more than clothing, it's jewelry, home goods, home furnishings, uniforms, even cars. The fashion industry is having a reinassance in that many are starting to focus on more healthy, less anorexic looking models and are beginning to ethically source and manufacture thier clothing. Yes, Asia is still the #1 location for manufacturing. However, an increase scrutiny of companys and thier social responsibilites is having a positive influence. In fact, wages have been rising so much in China, that manufactures are leaving for Taiwan, Vietnam, India and even returning to the US. My wife, who is in the industry, runs a program whose purpose is it relocate manufacturing, design, promotion, etc... to the US and more specifically the United States. You will always have companies like Nike that don't care, but in the past 5 years we've seen some change. :thumb: :twocents:
