I think in this case it's okay. Mainly because it's Big Timber, and they deserve to have their school rattled until they level their football field. Nobody should have to play uphill offense on that thing, it's just wrong.

When I-90 finally bypassed that rat hole back in the early eighties, they lost their number one source of revenue, operating one of the most notorious speed traps in the state. Hard times flush the chumps.

The football field is built at an noticable angle from Endzone to Endzone. You literally play a half of football uphill and another half downhill. I think it's one of those you have to see it things.dbackjon wrote:Benne wrote:I think in this case it's okay. Letter: Bible-giving tradition should continue
By Gazette News Services
I am also writing in regards to the end of the Bible giving tradition to graduates in Big Timber. I think it is a shame that one selfish and gutless individual can sway the school system and school board to deny the graduates the gift of the "Greatest Book" ever written. We hear and read of these things happening in other parts of the country, but right here in Montana, I would not think it would. I cannot believe that those "with the power" do not have the conviction to stand up against a person who doesn't even have the guts to identify themselves.
I hate to think of what our country would be like if it weren't for the fact that it was God-loving and Bible-reading people who have protected the freedom that we have today.
If he/she does not want a Bible, they should not deny 49 other students the pleasure of receiving one. He/she can take it or leave it, but I might suggest giving "it" a try. They may be surprised at what the Bible has to say to them.
My prayer is that all concerned will have a change of heart and come to their God-given senses.

Whats the difference between the Catholic bible and say the KJV ?Col Hogan wrote:Now the way I read the story, the ceremony is simply the distribution point...it's not the school system purchasing it and giving it...
So, if someone can refuse the Bible (which the story indicates has happened in the past) why is there any issue...the program does not violate any Constitution...just some weak administrators bailing on the first sign of being challenged...
If my kid went to this school system, we would refuse the Bible because it's most likely not a Catholic version...
But WHERE IS THE HARM???
