Venezeula has been on the downturn for a long time now. With Hugo doing whatever he wanted to get re elected and changed laws it has been through votes of the power and little opposition came from the wealthy. Considering half of South Florida is from Venezeula I had the chance to get a unique POV. The rich never hated him, because he never took from them. The Poor loved him because he gave to them. Well now he isn't giving to the poor as much and he is taking from the rich.
He is also arresting and trying to rid his opposition now.

I will have to ask them what they think of this. But in the past few months their plans to go back have been changing. I wonder where this puts them.

Re: Venezuela
I have been trying to tell the socialists on DemocraticUnderground for years that Chavez was nothing but a tinpot dictator, who will end up ruining the country...get lots of nasty replies to those sentiments there
Re: Venezuela
well people like to mention he gives free oil through citgo to poor areas in the US. But then he spits in the countries face at the same time. Talked to 2 people today. One from the main land and the other from margarita island. They were both very passionate about their continued hate. They are both hoping to get visa's after school or get one in another country because they do not want to go back.
