But I guess in this rabidly partisan environment people tend to think in absolutes more than they probably should.
That was the best thing about this quiz.

And, I don't think that the "choose another" option is only good for those that proclaim to be independent.

In many of the options, you can choose an even more extreme position.

It definitely does a better job of getting your actual stance on an issue, though.

Spoken like a true partisan zealot. You're like a political Highlander - "there can be only one" viewpoint. Works great on a message board, but like we've seen over the past few weeks (and years), it works terrible in real life.

How the fuck did you get that from my post?

I was arguing AGAINST the "there can be only one" viewpoint.

I LIKED that it added nuance... rather than a simply yes/no black / white dichotomy.

I don't know, man, you scored a whopping 81% with the Greens - you're almost a luddite with that kind of score!
Guarantee you the average greenie is light years ahead of the average conk when it comes to technology. :coffee:

Republican 74%
Libertarian 33%
Democrat 30%
Green 7%
Socialist 3%

I used mostly "choose other options" as well. Most of the questions require more thought than just yes or no.

And that's a good thing? So conks and greens are both luddites, but one is more so than the other one? At the end of the day, we still have a population full of people that think the word "chemical" is automatically an evil thing and that there is no such thing as safe nuclear power. When it comes to science let's just say that as a country, we're extremely fortunate that the minotiry of us who actually understand science don't just throw up our hands and give up when confronted with the amazing denseness of those for whom science looks like magic.

It was your last statement that I went with, although you are quite correct up to that point with the benefits of nuance. I don't think getting people off of a fence is necessarily a good thing if the actual answer lies somewhere by that fence. Just choosing a side of the fence because you have to isn't always the best option.
