I don't love Palin. I just know there was 2 idiots running for VP in 08'. One got elected...BlueHen86 wrote:But BDK loves Palin.Skjellyfetti wrote:

If the only way you can defend Palin is to try and point out other idiots, maybe you shouldn't defend her. Lots of idiots in politics.BDKJMU wrote:If that is your criteria, then you could say the same about a lot of other states too...BlueHen86 wrote:

Btw, there were, not was.
Personal opinion but all other things being equal I think that being a governor of any state (small or large) even for a short time better prepares you to be POTUS than being a long-time Senator. A Governor has to run the executive branch of the state while working with the state legislature. A Senator has to run their staff. It's two different worlds from a complexity perspective.BlueHen86 wrote:Biden has been around much longer (so of course you will find more gaffes), and has shown ability in certain areas. I'm not defending her. I'm saying Biden is as big of an idiot. You're the one who is defending Biden.BlueHen86 wrote:If the only way you can defend Palin is to try and point out other idiots, maybe you shouldn't defend her. Lots of idiots in politics.BDKJMU wrote:

That sounds good in theory, but I don't think it always proves true. Jimmy Carter's pre-POTUS resume was as good as anyones.UNI88 wrote:Personal opinion but all other things being equal I think that being a governor of any state (small or large) even for a short time better prepares you to be POTUS than being a long-time Senator. Biden is an Einstein compared to her…it's not even close. You can't be serious.BDKJMU wrote:I'm not defending her. I'm saying Biden is as big of an idiot. You're the one who is defending Biden.BlueHen86 wrote:

I don't think he has a sense of humor, so I'm pretty sure that he is serious.kalm wrote:Biden is an Einstein compared to her…it's not even close. You can't be serious.BDKJMU wrote:

This is a damning critique of where we are in politics today. Another reason I quit watching the newskalm wrote:Biden is an Einstein compared to her…it's not even close. You can't be serious.BDKJMU wrote:

I disagree. There have been whack-a-doodles in politics saying and doing stupid things since the US was founded. There do seem to be cycles where stupidity goes up and down just like there are cycles where partisanship goes up and down. We're just in one of those trenches where stupidity and partisanship seem to be very high.Chizzang wrote:Bingo..!!!OL FU wrote:

the difficult task of figuring out which elected official is actually dumber than whoever the dumbest yardstick of the year is...
Politicians used to fight duals. Hamilton - Burr comes to mind.UNI88 wrote:I disagree. There have been whack-a-doodles in politics saying and doing stupid things since the US was founded. I think we should go back to those days.

I think I misread your comment to indicate that "a damning critique of where we are in politics today" was an indication that politics today is worse than it was in the past. So I agree that politics today is screwed up but was attempting to disagree that it is worse than it has been. I get theOL FU wrote:I'm confused. Got it. I don't know that it is worse because we have always had demagogues, showmen and clowns. I do think it feels worse because for a large part my life there was substantially one party rule and now we are for the most part a 50/50 country. It also feels worse because the media ( what ever that is now) also has its share of demagogues, showpeople and clowns.UNI88 wrote:I think I misread your comment to indicate that "a damning critique of where we are in politics today" was an indication that politics today is worse than it was in the past. I don't know Cap. I know a guy, a Republican strategist (still don't really know what he actually does), who said "I didn't vote for McCain, I voted for Palin."Cap'n Cat wrote:Baldy wrote:Donks

You'all aren't that dumb, are you?
I bet I can come up with more, too. So again, this nit wit:
is at least as dumb as Palin.
