Interesting to see Joe completely abandon the tenents of his religion, the bible, his school to try to win an argument.

But you are wrong again. Throughout history, Jesuit universities (which are, in fact, the model of the American liberal arts university system -- including Ivy League schools like Harvard, Yale and Princeton) were noted for their open and diverse thought. Jesuit universities educated the founders of the Enlightenment movement, and throughout the Middle Ages, they preserved and improved the Scientific Method. This openness made the Jesuits unpopular with secular authority and even with many people within the Catholic Church, and ultimately, the Jesuits, as an order, were actually suppressed by enemies within the Catholic Church and at the demand of secular kings. And keep in mind that, despite the alleged reasons initially cited for the suppression of the Jesuits by their secular enemies and still largely cited by anti-Catholics today, the true reason for the suppression of the Jesuits is that their order was notable in rejecting the idea that kings ruled by divine right -- a key idea of the Enlightenment.D1B wrote:It's a catholic brainwashatorium. My work is done here. You outed yourself. As my theology professor stated, learned people are interested in Jesus of Nazareth, who he was, what he said, and what he stood for, because he is one of the most remarkable figures in history. You pull things out of your ass, and you then claim it is more important than Plato, Socrates, Augustine, and even more modern thinkers like Kierkegaard.
Re: Inflation detected 10^35 secs after Big Bang
How? Jesuits are not afraid to face head on the arguments of others, because they have confidence in their positions and scholarship. The fact is my education at Fordham exposed me to many other belief systems: Hindu, Buddhism, Islam, included. It helped me grow as a person.D1B wrote:Interesting to see Joe completely abandon the tenents of his religion, the bible, his school to try to win an argument.

It the catholic theologians who are full of shit. They, like you, are experts in crap. You're Tom Cruise.
Thanks for confirming your intelligence, or lack thereof, is limited and one sided. Every honest student of history knows:
1. There were no eyewitness accounts of Jesus, just like there were no eyewitness accounts of Zeus. And...
2. Jesus would be on a long list of obscure forgotten manufactured deities if the most powerful person on earth at the time - Constantine didn't adopt it as the official religion of his empire.
3.Christianity has marched lockstep with the greatest of tyrants for 2000 years. It's the ultimate scam perpetrated on humanity. It's snake oil - something to make the poor and oppressed feel good about being poor and oppressed. Believe in Jesus, wait it out, work for someone to death and you'll be rewarded in an afterlife.
It's no wonder why this is still popular and it has nothing to do with Jesus.

http://christiananswers.net/q-aiia/mustardseed.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Please note that Jesus was not comparing the mustard seed to all other seeds in the world, but to seeds that a local, Palestinian farmer might have “sowed in his field,” i.e., a key qualifying phrase in verse 31. And it’s absolutely true that the black mustard seed (Brassica nigra = Sinapis nigra) was the smallest seed ever sown by a first-century farmer in that part of the world.
It’s also true, as many modern-day encyclopedias will tell you, that the black mustard seed in Israel will typically grow to heights of 3.7 meters, or 12 (twelve) feet—plenty large enough to hold a bird nest.

Plants must have rigid structure and protection for a bird to nest. A bird would have to be dumb as a Fordham theology student to nest in a weed like that.
No eyewitness of Jesus, but we know what the smallest seed the bronze age goat fuckers planted. Still, not the smallest seed.

The black mustard seed in Israel (the "Salvadora Persica") will grow to 12 feet -- plenty large to hold a bird's nest. It is foolish for you to insist otherwise.

More good stuff on the tiny Salvadora Persica mustard seed, and how big the tree becomes. D1B is clearly on tilt. Birds can't nest in trees which average 20 to 22 feet? Par for the course from D1B.

A Salvadora persica, or mustard “tree,” starts out as a tiny little seed that averages 1-5mm in size. Teeny tiny.
This tiny little seed is a quick grower though and in the right conditions will sprout within 24 hours. If it needs to grow in tough conditions- 72 hours. That is a teeny tiny seed that grows super fast.
To grow, a mustard tree prefers a natural water source. Sure you can water it, but in the wild it really thrives in places it can “get that agua.” This is equally interesting because they are known for growing in some of the most difficult soils types. Hard to sandy soil, hot temps, droughts… they can handle them; especially with a natural water source.
It is probably worth mentioning that this is not the tree that we get our delicious mustard from. However, these trees do produce fruit. Fruit that holds seeds which can be replanted!
As time goes on and the tree grows, it will reach an average of about 20 to 22 feet in height. Even a tiny tree gets to about 9 to 13 feet.
And take a guess how long it takes to be considered a “mature” mustard tree…

So you just said something stupid. And not true. The mustard seed referred to in the bible is most likely brassica Nigra - black mustard, an annual weedy plant.

Hey Joe, here's a Jesuiticus Hotoccus Cokkus, also known as the Egyptian Mustard Tree. This is probably what Jesus was referring to.
"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."
