Post by Appaholic »

Just wanted a title to counter TMan's.....everyone knows that capitalism as Republicans portray it finally succumbed to a demise in 2008 with the Republican admin's decision to bailout Wall Street....let us pray (while the Repub's backpedal)...

Hank Paulson and Ben Bernanke are thieves (as in "den of thieves") first, Republicans second. The bailout covered Wall Streets ass while the rest of the world lost 45% of it's wealth. That resulted from two decades of piss poor banking management (i.e., greed absent a viable product, which is not a function of any capitalism model.)

Capitalism gone awry, T. Short-term profit for the Bush and Cheney types. Misery for the working class types.

Are Bush and Cheney really capitalists? Or are they corporatists?

Agreed......yet, the "capitalism" model so fervently advocated for is, in reality as recently practiced, exactly how you describe...greed without a viable product....capitalism is good, capitalism as practiced by the powerful minority of decision makers is bad...

Oh yeah....that's the thing...they divide the masses by black/white, Rep/Dem, con/lib, etc.....but this episode is proof yet again the divide is those who have power and the rest of us....
