Know any Republicans who defended Bush's spending?

Didn't think so.

Bush was a RINO pushing right-wing extremist agendas.

But, back on topic...

T-man,
I don't think the Republican Party you incessantly refer to actually exists anymore..?
There is absolutely no evidence of it anywhere...

it's a myth
a legend

It's not healthy to live in fantasy land - your idea that Bush was not supported by Republicans is the same argument - that Republicans don't listen to Rush Limbaugh...

This party of Responsible Republicans is a legend of the past as far as I can tell
because all active evidence is to the contrary

My point, of which you appear incapable of grasping... is that "the two parties" are long gone
It's a new political landscape my friend...

Clinging to old dead religions like Reagan, Goldwater, JFK is all the same... They're gone and are never going t return..

8 years of Conservative control in Washington was a disaster - and 8 years of Liberal control will be a similar disaster...

Blagojevich and DeLay are the new religious leaders... and I detest them all

Sure do...the same Republican's who voted him in after 4 years of similar spending, and the Republican-led congress who helped increase the size of government on his watch....you guys aren't getting out of this one...you claim Bush was a RINO pushing right-wing agendas, yet, he was the republican party face for 8+ years???...how do you dismiss this?...better yet, how can you rationalize it?

You stated the Dems were dishonest, I stated they haven't cornered the market on dishonesty, you stated you wanted specific examples, I gave you the Republican party claiming to be the party of smaller government while growing the government at the highest rate since FDR.....what doesn't compute? Repub's claim to be party of smaller government while growing government at an astronimical rate...that's dishonest and you're "I-know-you-are-but-what-am-I" argument is comical, yet sad.....

Rod Blagojevich is representative of all politicians (Democrat or Republican), he was just a little more overt in his corruption.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

You see, now, here's another problem with some of you - he is NOT representative of all politicians. He is representative of all BAD politicians. Juast as in your office, the 90/10 rule applies in legislative bodies, too.

Cap'n, I live in Illinois - if the 90/10 rule applies to our General Assembly the ratio is skewed in the wrong direction. I can send you some Tribune and/or Sun Times articles about the political reform proposals that are being given the shaft. They have been kept bottled up in Committee by the Democratic Leaders because they don't want to have to put their legislators in the uncomfortable position of having to vote for or against them.

Honestly, you're right about most politicians being honest and wanting to do good things for their constituents. The problem is that our political systems tend to reward the biggest egomaniacs with positions of power and they use those positions to pervert the system for the benefit of themselves and their supporters.

Yes it is.

And it's COMPLETELY controlled by Democrats, so that every idiotic mistake made will always land on the doorstep of... :grenade:

BTW...if the officials of the past should be put in the past...then I'll assume you are including Bush-as-strawman arguments.

The 90/10 principle works there, too.

I'm more cynical than you are Cap'n. Politicians are worse than corporate CEO's and almost as bad a plaintiffs bar attorneys.
