Reagan didnt try to play Beirut off as a non event because he was trying to shore up his foreign policy credibility right before an election.
That doesn't really address the point of the tweet.

Yes, it does.

The outrage over Benghazi resulted from SOS Clinton's refusal to react to repeated requests for addl. security at the Benghazi outpost, AND State and WH overt attempts to spin the tragedy into a liberal beneficial political narrative via collusional lies.

None occurred at Beirut, a simple act of terrorism.

That help ya understand it, Gomer?

I for one am surprised that twitter, instagram, facebook, and any other form of social media along with all the 24/7 news outlets weren't all over Beirut and blogging about it nonstop on forums.

Oh yeah, it was the early 80's, CNN was two years old and Al Gore hadn't invented the civilian internet yet. :coffee:

The only thing simple about it was the halfwit who sent in the Marines without ammunition to a place where car bombs are a daily occurence. Stupid fvck should have been stood against a wall and shot. :coffee:

That is a very interesting explanation for something, I'm sure; but not for sending in the Marines to the planets hottest combat zone unarmed, I don't think. :coffee:

Imagine the outrage from the Republican paper tigers had it happened under Carter or Clinton. The outrage. The rending of garments and tearing of hair..

Actually, it does. It points out that the tweet is a non-sequitur.

I'm not surprised it went over your head.

I think spandos already posted several days worth of videos on the subject. Now you're doing your "Japanese soldier found hiding in the Pacific 40 years after the War" routine... :ohno:

Saw last night that they've already spent more on this than the entire 9/11 Commission.

Yay fiscal conservatism!

I wonder if they spent as much on investigating the financial crisis.
