DOJ:..."the emails exist...no, we're not going to turn them over".

Really?

Pray for a Republican Senate, so an Inspector General can begin jailing the crooks at DOJ.

OF COURSE THE DATA FUCKING EXISTS!!!!! Our government and it's agencies back up and record every bit of data like no other. As I've said before, there is a 99% chance that a Raid Array is being used, and if so there are at least 2 direct copies (from Lerner's email) and then at least 2 copies of each email from every recipient. The hard drive is meaningless. Unless a massive server failure has occurred, the emails and data exists.

EDIT: The IRS used Sonasoft to archive emails (contract ended in 2009) I wonder who is doing it now. :suspicious:

Just read this article from June.
Prior to the eruption of the IRS controversy last spring, the IRS had a policy of backing up the data on its email server (which runs Microsoft Outlook) every day. It kept a backup of the records for six months on digital tape, according to a letter sent from the IRS to Sens. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and Orrin Hatch (R-Utah). After six months, the IRS would reuse those tapes for newer backups. So when Congressional committees began requesting emails from the agency, its records only went back to late 2012.

The IRS also had two other policies that complicated things. The first was a limit on how big its employees' email inboxes could be. At the IRS, employees could keep 500 megabytes of data on the email server. If the mailbox got too big, email would need to be deleted or moved to a local folder on the user's computer.

I used Outlook for my business. Outlook allows up to 4gb prior to archiving. I sync'd my PDA/phone and could store YEARS of activity. The only reason to purge/archive (which Outlook does automatically to stay below capacity), PREMATURELY is for legal/liability reason (moot for govt), or to conceal communication.

For the IRS/DOJ to suggest a HD crash would entirely erase all record of one user's emails was laughable.

It was laughable to anyone with even a ounce of IT knowledge. And for the IRS to say "They are all gone, and can't find them." is an insult to every citizen of this country. Because of what they demand all of us to do.

IRS is now saying that they wiped and destroyed Lerner's blackberry.... a full year after the inquiry began and they had already floated the crashed hard drive excuse.

Hmmm.....I'm supposed to keep 7 yrs of tax returns handy for audit purposes, yet the IRS can get by with this? :coffee:

Day After Election Bombshell: IRS Never Looked For Emails!!!

Post by travelinman67 »

The IRS attorneys, backed into a corner looking at a contempt citation and appointment of an Inspector General now that Reid has been shown the door, file response to Judicial Watch's discovery request...

...AND ACKNOWLEDGE THE IRS NEVER EVEN SEARCHED FOR LOIS LERNER'S EMAILS!!!!

If Mitch McConnell only accomplishes one deed as Majority Leader, Dear God, let it be the appointment of a Special Prosecutor for the purpose of eviscerating the crooks at DOJ and IRS.

Given the difference in election outcomes of 2010 vs 2012 vs 2014, its not a huge leap to conclude that the curtailing of IRS shenanigans vs. conservative/Republican groups had an impact on 2012's election outcome.

My company, of less than 100-120 people, with 2 IT guys and a basic software system that is about as old as the company (98 years old) and was able to recover 15 e-mails from about 7 years ago to deal with a potential issue.

Turns out the e-mails solved everything before the issue got started.

I mean, what the actual fuck.

I'm sure our headquarters had stuff from the 1910's yet...in fact I know they do.

Our branch didn't open until 2008 and I went looking today. I found paper copies of receipts from remodel work done to make the building we moved into usable for us.

I found every single order that has been placed in our branch (every one is printed) going back to 2008 before our currently computer system was put into place. Our current system was put into action March 16, 2010. Every order ever place (Even those that were canceled), every quote ever given, every thing that was ever done on our computer system still exists as both digital and paper copies.
