AZ,
If you believe somebody or some thing is stopping you from being successful you're a fool
If you think somebody or some thing is stopping you from being happy - again - foolish

Each of us, including the destitute ghetto kid and the CEO of whatever corp
Has an opportunity that ultimately WE are in control of
each will work out differently
each of us capable of defining what success means to us (not others)

If YOU can't see that because of Obama or the Liberals or the whatever
You might actually be dumber than you act on here

A) you're like shooting fish in a barrel sometimes with your predictable responses.
B) While ALL you've said here may be true, it all has ZERO to do with Alpha's statement. You and I being individually successful has happened IN SPITE of the fact that Obama has led this country into a shithole. The list of his failures is long and illustrious: Worst national debt ever (and growing, with no end in sight) and largest budget deficits in recorded history, his complete mishandling of racial issues has singlehandedly set race relations in this country back 75 years, he evokes an utter lack of respect and complete distain from the international community as a whole (what with his annual "apology tours" and gross mishandling of foreign policy), and despite campaigning as a unifier he's presided over the move to the most polarizing political environment in this country in my lifetime, etc., etc.

I'm glad that you're successful. I'm happy AND successful. But that doesn't change facts--the direction the COUNTRY has headed and is headed is troubling.

Not being able to look beyond your own front door is a troubling trait, my friend. :kisswink:

Your response is classic right wing play book EXTREME hyperbole...
thank you for being so predictable

The "We're in a sh!thole" and it's one mans fault
is pretty silly and almost child like in its simplistic dishonesty

Your fist misnomer is "The Debt"
Yes Obama has added the most dollars to the debt
but has actually added a lower percentage of debt than his predecessor (Imagine that)
The previous Administration added a higher percentage of new debt
Yet somehow we survived

Read this: http://useconomy.about.com/od/usdebtand ... sident.htm

Then you follow that hyperbole with this doozie
Obama himself has set race relations back 75 years (what a drama queen)
True, calling our race issues out - as he has done - is not very presidential
and in some very real ways he has offended a huge segment of old white men (see mirror to identify)
and the old white men that he has offended are vocal (see Fox News)

and they will tell you just exactly "how far" we've ALL been set back - just ask them

Next:
His foreign policy is mostly the same as it ever was...
He hasn't undone any of the previous errors and has added a few new errors of his own
But "The World" you seem to think that matters so little - now controls your feelings here
The "world" out there hasn't changed much and Obama is a pimple on its ass

Face it
You desperately want to feel slighted
You need to feel offended by this president
You need to feel like he's keeping YOU from something - but he's not

The link you give states:
"George W. Bush - President Bush added the second greatest amount to the debt, at $5.849 trillion"
which is wrong by almost a trillion. Under Bush it went up about $4.89 trillion.

This link (got from a factcheck.org article on this very subject) you can pull up the national debt from any exact date:
http://www.savingsbonds.gov/NP/debt/current

The national debt on Inauguration day 1/20/01 when Bush II was sworn into office was $5.727 trillion.
The national debt on Inauguration day 1/20/2009, when Bush left office and Obama was sworn in, was
$10.626 trillion
So national debt rose about $4.89 trillion under Bush II, and an increase of about 85.5%

The current national debt is $19.279 trillion
http://www.usdebtclock.org/

So national debt has risen about $8.653 trillion under Obama, an increase of about 81.4%, and we still have 7 more months to go- Obama's debt will almost certainly top Bush's % wise also by Inauguration day 2017.

Indeed,
His budget handlers were clever
Do you know what an off-budget transaction is BDKJMU..?

He borrowed the rest from Social Security in an off-budget transaction so it would not show up as debt
Look that up smart guy and learn something about hiding deficit debt

Hey math whizzes, as the denominator gets bigger, the PERCENTAGE growth is going to get smaller, even if raw dollars added is larger (as is the case with Sadaam Hussein Obama).

Oh god he's spending money 1.7% faster than his predecessor over 8 years

and Fox News told me we're 75 years behind on race relations
(even though 75 years ago were the salad days)

and the world thinks we're idiots - because we now care what France thinks but before we didn't
But now it's really REALLY important what countries think (but 9 years ago fuck them)

Adult male tampons are on sale at K-Mart (I saw that on Fox News too)

Are you really debating which POTUS (Bush II or Obama) was worse in regard to the debt? That's kind of like arguing which presidential candidate (Clinton II or Trump) is worse? They're both bottom of the barrel choices x 2.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

We stand on our own as an outstanding educational institution that betters its students and the state of Iowa.
