The paper trail (i.e. money) to that lab is quite interesting and it is no wonder Dr. Fauci likes dodge those questions when the topic comes up.

$200 million of tax payer money to fund a Chinese lab to stay ahead of the next pandemic through gain of function studies.

Seems like SARS 1 freaked everyone the fuck out and this was proactive research that ended like half of the horror stories ever written.

Well that is one side of the story.

There is another that they knew about how the safety protocols were not being followed and in some cases ignored but still decided to stick with the plan.

So while they were farming out research to China about new pathogens, they were also funding the place that the new pathogen would come from. I have no problem with farming out the practice in general, my concern is 1) we decided to go with China (who has a history of skimping on safety protocols), and 2) it was known the lab had problems and protocols were being skimped on.

The whole situation is an embarrassment to the people writing the checks and doing the research. That is the reason the topic was pooh-poohed in the beginning. Ego's/face got in the way of doing what was right.

I don't wear a mask anymore. Lowes has removed their signs, it's not enforced in places like the Post Office and i'm fully vaccinated.

I've seen people wearing pins that say " COVID-19 Vaccinated". I guess as a way to let others know they're safe to be near (and not anti-vaxxers by default?)

Is someone who has been vaccinated safer to be near? Couldn't they still be carrying the virus but not feeling the effects? The vaccine makes it safer for them to be around others?

Less likely to get it means less likely to give it. But you can still shed as your body fights it off. It also reduces severity.

He's an eye doctor. Sure he's trained in medicine but what does he know about diseases and viral infections that affect the lungs, heart, other organs? I wouldn't say he's an expert.

And you're putting down doctors that work in labs? Who do you think is coming up with the treatments that surgeons and other doctors, like Rand Paul, are prescribing? Fauci may be many things but I don't think a fraud is one them.

at least he didn’t circumvent US law in order to fund research with government funds at the Wuhan lab of a type that is banned in the US. Not to mention making sure that the only Dr from US on the Wuhan investigation is the Dr he funneled the funding through.
