Yes. Because he is a donk and must be held responsible. If he was a conk you'd give him a pass and blame any donk that questioned him. Party first, country second.CitadelGrad wrote:You fucking idiot. During the first wave of airstrikes to start the War in Iraq, I remember wathching an NBC White House correspondent report that George Bush was not interested in watching the news, turned off the T.V., and went to bed. I'm sure Graddy was all over that.

That's okay, Bush was a conk and could therefore do no wrong.kalm wrote:During the first wave of airstrikes to start the War in Iraq, I remember wathching an NBC White House correspondent report that George Bush was not interested in watching the news, turned off the T.V., and went to bed. Thousands die in Iraq because we invaded a country with no WMD's and Bush gets a pass.
A handful of people die in Benghazi and we need to investigate the President.
No double standard there.

Does he stay at the White House 24-7 (its an election year)? Does he have a situation room on Airforce 1? Maybe he forgot to arrange for the photo shoot this time. Point is, you don't know and you're about as reliable as Fox News.CitadelGrad wrote:I don't. If he was not in the situation room, he was negligent. Was Bush negligent on 9/11/01? He definitely was not in the Situation Room, although he may have been surrounded by better advisors than the ones he appointed.CitadelGrad wrote:I don't. THAT is the difference.

There is a situation room on AF1. It doesn't matter. If he wasn't in the situation room, he should have been. If he was in the situation room, he has no excuse for taking no action while the Benghazi consulate was being attacked.kalm wrote:Does he stay at the White House 24-7 (its an election year)? Hen, not only is it not a questionable story, it goes much, much deeper than is being reported. The story is leak-fed. There is a reason for that. Career military, spooks and diplomats are not going to take the fall for political appointees, and that is why they are leaking this stuff, because they know the whole truth, and they also know that if the public knew, there would be an outcry.BlueHen86 wrote:So, you are comparing a few kooks with a major news network that won't let a questionable story go.CID1990 wrote:The same people who criticized Bush for continuing to read a children's book as the 9-11 attacks occurred... they don't see the irony here at all.

Some networks have abrogated their responsibility to at least investigate to see if there has been malfeasance in our government. I do not care if Republicans or Democrats are in control; there is a lot of smoke surrounding this, including that Americans died after our post in Benghazi had already been under attack for FIVE HOURS. Somebody not only failed to take action, it appears that somebody REFUSED to take action. Of course FOX is running with this; they are right leaning. The problem is that the media is supposed to be a watchdog, yet they have completely surrendered their responsibility in that venue. It should be concerning to all of us. If there is truly nothing there, then fine. But at least ASK QUESTIONS and don't immediately switch into defense mode for "your guy".

In Iraq I had the privilege of being mortared a few times, and about 80% of the time we could see the tube or the muzzle blast. Another reason they usually set up in line of sight is so they can adjust fire if they do not have a forward spotter, which was almost always the case.houndawg wrote:Seems odd that an indirect fire weapon like a mortar would be deployed in such a way that it was in line-of-sight of its intended target, which it must have been if it was being painted with a laser.
