I'm not a snob by any means but even I know that Starbucks is the bud light of coffee, Flaggy junior.
It's still coffee grounds steeped in hot water. I'll take coffee from anyone. Caribou, Dunkin, Starbucks, etc...

WASHINGTON: Cherry Street Coffee House, with multiple locations in Seattle, serves great coffee because the people who make it really know how. Cherry Street's top barista, Laila Ghambari, won this year's U.S. Barista Championships.

It's a bit more. Like a variety in coffee beans, there are a variety of hops, malt, barley and yeast that go into beer production, not to mention the methods of conditioning that can give you different flavor profiles.

But i'm not trying to trigger some beer snob, you geek. This here's about fucking with Clitz and coffee. :tothehand:

I was responding to BDK's major swing and a miss to my post on page 3, along with his typical fact- and substance-free personal attack.

What the Righties have ignored is ObamaCare extended Medicare solvency over ten years in the short-term and cut the 75-year actuarial imbalance of Medicare over 25% in the long-term -- done primarily by rolling-back "Part C", or Medicare Advantage.

Ironically, BDK precipitated this with his old sig that said the future 75-year unfunded liabilities were $90 trillion --- several years earlier (before the ACA went into effect) I had read the SSA Annual Report that pegged the 75-year unfunded liabilities at $120+ trillion. Ain't that some sheet? Thanks, BDK

So I trolled him, not knowing he would not only take the bait, but the hook, line, sinker, rod, reel and a big chunk of the pier ...

He's a bright guy but whiffed on the "cumulative" part of the statement --- claiming that annual GDP in 75 years will be in the range of $82 trillion. A fair estimate, but he failed to "successively add" the previous 74 years of "accumulated GDP" which will amount to the $4,000+ trillion.

THE POINT BEING, fixing the cumulative '75-year unfunded liabilities' is effectively less than 1% of the cumulative '75-year GDP' and can easily be fixed by our Congress Critters (instead of using the FEAR! of TRILLIONS! as a political wedge). Changes in policy, raising the age, means-testing, fees/taxes, etc., and of course, THE DEATH PANELS! (mmmwhhhah HA HA HA!)

The other thing: Aetna tried to bribe the Justice Department last Summer into approving their mega-merger with Humana by threatening to withdraw from the Marketplace (they did after the merger was denied on anti-trust grounds). They simply got caught showing their ass ...
:dunce:

Tossing out big numbers to obscure the obvious...1% is a big part of any budget when you consider what else you would cut to fund the 1%.
Yep. Old fart like to talk about 75 year periods. Well, the cost of Obamacare if left in place is likely to be exponentionally higer than 1st projected. The 10 year projections for Obamacare doubled after only 4 years from 900 billion to over 1.8+ trillion/180+ billion a year.
http://washingtonexaminer.com/cbo-obama ... le/2529655
While that is only 1% of GDP, it is about 4% of fed tax revenues. But the fed govt has a history of grossly underestinating the cost of future social programs. Take medicare for example.
"..Medicare (entire program). In 1967, the House Ways and Means Committee predicted that the new Medicare program, launched the previous year, would cost about $12 billion in 1990. Actual Medicare spending in 1990 was $110 billion—off by nearly a factor of 10..."
http://dailysignal.com/2009/08/04/healt ... ck-record/
Now that 110 billion in 1990 is 200+ billion in today's dollars. Yet last year the fed spent close to 600 billion on medicare.

We are already at facing the prospect of at this century at current growth rates FICA, Medicare, Medicaid, and interest on the debt consuming 100% of fed tax revenues. Add Obamacare on top of that, and it would tax a massive fed tax increase just to cover it all, and that would still leave no $ left over for anything else. Can't afford it.

Wow!

Trumpcare is like magic.

Doesn't have to even be passed for premiums to plummet!

All hail our glorious leader!!
Soon after Charla McComic’s son lost his job, his health-insurance premium dropped from $567 per month to just $88, a “blessing from God” that she believes was made possible by President Trump.

“I think it was just because of the tax credit,” said McComic, 52, a former first-grade teacher who traveled to Trump’s Wednesday night rally in Nashville from Lexington, Tenn., with her daughter, mother, aunt and cousin.

The price change was actually thanks to a subsidy made possible by former president Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act, which is still in place, not by the tax credits proposed by Republicans as part of the health-care bill still being considered by Congress.
