I read a retired newspaper editor's blog, and he brought up how some of the crazies simply might be people that want to make a profit off of running. His point being campaign money can be spent pretty much any way you like, right? Collect 500k, but only spend 200 and you lost, pocket 300k. His main point was that people should not be getting requests for donations from candidates from other states.

Ted Lieu gave $50K in campaign money to Stanford. I think his son got in!

Part of it is probably a numbers game. Purple areas with reduced voter access might provide crazy with a punchers chance. We’ve seen it recently.

I think this is a slice of the red wedding scenario CID is hoping for.

Hell, my understanding is the Eastern Slavs and western Slavs don’t get along within the same border.

We had a granite counter top delivered last summer by a couple of guys with thick accents. I asked them two questions.

1). Have you guys ever dropped one of those (500-600 lb slab of rock) before? Their answer: “Not…yet”.

2). Are you Russian?

“He’s Rrrussian…I’m from Ukraine”.

And you two get along?
