The WA state DMV in Spokane Valley is quite efficient. So is paying property taxes and looking up parcels in Spokane and Kitsap Counties.

Imagine though, how many accountants, book keepers and tax attorneys would be out of jobs with a simplified system.

Elon Musk is such an enigma because you can literally make any criticism about him no matter how big or small and someone on your friends list you’ve not spoken to since high school will suddenly become a financial expert on your post.

Like you could say something wild like “Elon Musk never made his ex wife cum” and some guy who was the poster child for No Child Left Behind will heroically spring forward to tell you how the female orgasm isn’t actually a cost effective measure so while he *wanted* to make her cum, the good business sense was to only satisfy himself. And then you’ll never hear from that person again, until the next time you criticize Elon Musk

Speaking of government efficiency and service - the city was supposed to inspect the electrical work in my floating home yesterday but:

• The inspector could not give a time range, only that it would be sometime that day. The electrician asked the inspector to give him a call when he was headed that direction but the inspector didn't bother to do so. Because of this, no one was there to let him in.
• Anticipating this possibility, the inspector was given the code to the front door to gain entrance but couldn't figure it out and get in.
• Rather then calling the electrician who scheduled the inspection, the inspector called the electrician's boss who was out of town and unavailable, so no one was able to help the inspector figure out the coded door.

Is their expectation that contractors/homeowners will be onsite and available for the entire day so they can show up when it's convenient for them? Too many government employees seem to use the reality that they have a captive market as an excuse not to provide good customer service.

That sucks. Been there. I have some unbelievable stories involving government inefficiency on sone very heavy matters.
