I think an interesting stat to consider is that of the folks who did get fully vaxxed in the US, only half of them have gotten the booster shot. What happened to that population that was so gung-ho to get vaccinated, that half of them afterwards have decided not to get the booster? We talk about the divide all the time between the vaxxed and unvaxxed, but even in the vaxxed population there is a sizeable number who have eschewed further vaccinations. And they all can't be Republicans.

Some of the guys on ags are in that category, double vaxxed but won't get the booster because they don't think the vax works.

He suffers from buying into the same fallacies as the "natural herd immunity" crowd does. First, though the overwhelming percentage of those who have died have been over 65, a LOT of people under 65 have died. As of now, in cases where they have been reasonably able to verify, the number of COVID-19 deaths among people under 65 is 227, 183. That is a lot of people.

The other fallacy is the idea that you don't have to worry about people who are not high risk getting it because their personal risk is low. No. Those people are vectors. They can carry the disease to people who ARE high risk.

Not all Republicans, but there are indications that Republicans are more likely to be in the vaccinated-but-not-boosted group than Democrats are. One such indication is in the January 29 - February 1, 2022, poll results at https://docs.cdn.yougov.com/9uqg6clnvr/ ... Report.pdf. Locate the link to question 42, "Get Booster," and click on it.

When you get to the results you can see that the questions were asked of people who had been vaccinated. 71% of Democrats in that group said they had received a booster vs. 50% of Republicans. They also asked the question, "To combat variants, some countries — including the U.S. — are now offering boosters to adults. Would you get a booster shot if it were available to you?"

21% of Democrats said 'yes' to that vs. 12% of Republicans. Do the addition and you find that 92% of Democrats either said they got one already or would get one vs. 62% of Republicans. You can also see that only 3% of Democrats said they would not get one vs. 23% of Republicans.

You can also look at the numbers for Independents and see that they look very similar to the Republican numbers. That is not surprising as Gallup polling (https://news.gallup.com/poll/15370/part ... ation.aspx) estimated that for, the period January 3 - 16 2022, 46% of Independents leaned Republican while 36% leaned Democrat.
