I also would need to know the context. Calling LGBTQ+ people "some of the bravest and most inspiring people I've ever known" doesn't mean current and former military members aren't also "some of the bravest and most inspiring people I've ever known". A reasonable person knows that LGBTQ+ people have faced and had to overcome discrimination and hate.

Giving credit to LGBTQ+ people seems to trigger some snowflakes.
