Clinton Foundation refiles three years of tax forms
Washington Examiner ^ | 10/5/16 12:00 AM | Sarah Westwood

Clinton Foundation officials quietly refiled three years of tax-related forms this week after the New York attorney general acknowledged the charity had failed to disclose all of its donors in accordance with state law.
Two entities operating within the Clintons' sprawling philanthropic network — the Clinton Health Access Initiative and the Clinton Global Initiative — submitted supplementary financial disclosures for different years between 2012 and 2014 while denying Tuesday that the attorney general's office had asked them to do so.
"The Clinton Foundation is properly registered to solicit funds under Article 7A, which requires organizations to register before they solicit funds in New York," said Ricardo Castro, general counsel for the Clinton Foundation.
-snip-
...the Clinton Foundation has logged its own financial inconsistencies over the past several years. In November of last year, the Clinton Health Access Initiative re-submitted several years of tax returns after reporters identified millions of dollars in foreign contributions that had been omitted from its disclosures.

Some good news in Clusterfuck 2016

Marijuana advocates are heading into the final weeks of the 2016 campaign with the wind at their backs as the latest polling shows legalization measures currently favored by voters in all five states where they're on the ballot.
In Arizona, a late-August Arizona Republic/Morrison/Cronkite News poll of 784 registered voters found that 50 percent supported marijuana legalization, 40 percent opposed it, and 10 percent remain undecided. That result is sharply at odds with a July poll of likely voters showing that only 39 percent said they favored the measure.

In California, a post-debate SurveyUSA poll of 751 likely voters found that Proposition 64, which would legalize, tax and regulate the sale of recreational marijuana, is supported by 52 percent of the electorate and opposed by 41 percent, with 6 percent undecided. This is a lower margin than some other recent polls there, which have pegged support at 60 percent or more.

Across the country in Massachusetts, the marijuana legalization measure there enjoys 53 percent support among likely voters, according to a recent WBZ-UMASS Amherst poll of 700 likely voters. Forty percent oppose it, while another 7 percent are unsure. That's also a turnaround from an earlier poll of 900 registered voters, which found only 41 percent supported the measure.

Up the coast in Maine, a late September poll of 505 likely voters found 53 percent support for the legalization measure, 38 percent opposed to it and 10 percent undecided. This number has been fairly stable since the spring.

A poll fielded last week of 500 likely voters in Nevada found the legalization measure there leading with 57 percent support, compared to 33 percent opposing it. That number is sharply at odds with a Review-Journal survey of 800 likely voters, fielded at the exact same time, which found the legalization measure leading by just 1 percentage point, well within the margin of error.

That was yesterday. And, it was just to celebrate Wikileaks 10th anniversary.

It was postponed supposedly due to security concerns. A few things were released by that Gucifer guy. A bigger dump (ha) is supposed to be released in the coming week.

One of the A+ rated polls, Monmouth, has been releasing some results lately. Here are the ones I can easily get to (Dates are the dates reported by RCP):

October 5, Ohio, Clinton by 2
October 4, Pennsylvania, Clinton by 10
October 3, Colorado, Clinton by 11
September 26, General Election 4-way, Clinton by 4
September 26, General Election 2-way, Clinton by 3
September 21, New Hampshire, Clinton by 9
September 20, Florida, Clinton by 5
September 19, Georgia, Trump by 3
September 15, Iowa, Trump by 8

I know its only grammar but when your whole schtick is trying to hide your religious fundamentalism behind a veneer of being highly educated this sort of thing kind of detracts from the attempt.
Again, I am an agnostic. Also, I have never claimed to have impressive academic credentials. I have a B.S. in biology from McNeese State. And I have some courses I took to improve my understanding of certain things associated with my career but were not taken as part of earning any degrees. A couple of graduate level Experimental Statistics course, a graduate level Statistical Survey Sampling course, and a graduate level Water Quality Modeling course. I did have the benefit of being mentored for five years by a guy with a Ph.D. in Estuarine Ecology and a Masters in Statistics. I actually think I got a better education during that five years than the typical Ph.D. student does because I got one on one teaching from a very competent person while working on real data for the purpose of supporting real decisions. But I would be expected to think that. At this point I have a shade over 35 years of hands on experience in environmental sampling and data analysis. I'm very good at what I do at this point.

But not much in terms of formal education. And I'd never win a spelling bee.

The argument is that wasn't legal before the ACA. And now it is becoming increasingly legal. What is hard to understand?

MEDICAL marijuana. I have no problem with that.

Recreational, on the other hand, is where I have the problem.

Who said anything about "smoking Marijuana" you sound really uninformed

Marijuana can be ingested in many ways as it is a pain reducer and apatite enhancer for cancer and other serious diseases. Very few cancer patients "smoke" the drug and most chemo patients swear by the pills keeping them from vomiting...

Legalizing Marijuana has many effects
Most good but some bad - as with all things "valuable" there is a gray market
The illegal sale and mass distribution of Marijuana in Washington State is WAY WAY down

From the Atlantic article last month:

"One-half of the dream is coming true. In the first two states to go legal, arrests for marijuana possession have dropped dramatically—by 98 percent in Washington and 95 percent in Colorado as of last year—and high taxes in both states are generating tens of millions of dollars a year for education and public health. At the same time, legal markets in Washington and Colorado along with loosening medical-marijuana laws around the country have together exerted enough downward pressure on street prices that Central American cartels have reportedly begun to shift production away from marijuana, toward more profitable drugs like heroin..."
