Re: Small plane crashes into Austin, TX office building
You know what, JSO? It is your OPINION and you are entitled to it, but I worked that job for 17 years and knew many FINE public servants who joined up to try to be their brother's keepers in an offical sense. I'd avoid calling ANY blanket statement "TRUTH" if I were you.JohnStOnge wrote:I said, and continue to say, that it takes a certain type of person to be a cop. You have to be able to be reasonably comfortable...to be able to live with...pushing people around. You have to have an aspect of "bully" within you. That's just the truth, no matter how much you may wish to deny it.youngterrier wrote:let's remember guys JSO thinks all cops are Gestapo-like agents who liked to kick cripple kids when they were little. Don't be surprised how he rationalizes (poorly) the slaughtering of people, he clearly likes making judgment calls about people he doesn't know as his previous posts show
I'm willing to bet he'd rationalize drug dealers killing police officers
For every one person you get the pleasure of "bullying" or "pushing around" you also get the pleasure of having one die in your arms. YOu also get the pleasure of seeing children killed or maimed by those people who should be caring for them. You get the pleasure of seeing senior citizens getting cleaned out by sh!theads that give them the love and attention their own children won't. Oh, I also forgot the dead prostitute in the woods stabbed through the liver over a rock of crack, the parents you get to inform at 2 a.m. that their kid is dead in a car accident, the thousands of people trying to get by who have their livelihoods stolen from them by some a$$hole who refuses to go out and earn an honest living. Yes, police work is all about getting in touch with your inner bully and unresolved feelings from the days back in 4th grade on the playground.
You are absolutely correct about it taking a certain type of person to be a cop. It takes someone who can work for 25 years while constantly having to take sh!t from people who DO NOT know anything about the job other than what they see on television and the couple of times they got pulled over on a traffic stop. Everybody on this board knows, as I do that there are bad cops out there. But to condense the occupational motivation of 200,000 people down to something so simplistic the way you did just makes you a fvcking idiot turd.
Next time you need someone to bail you out when your car is being broken into or your identity gets stolen and there's $500 bucks worth of kiddie porn on your Mastercard bill why don't you just call the Red Cross so's you don't get bullied or pushed around.
I don't agree with Cap'n Cat much, but he is spot on about you.

I tend to agree with YT that the vocal part of the AGS PW flew way right after the exodus of the people posting here. Probably only because the more vocal and knowledgeable liberals were the ones that came here.

It still doesn't answer the question of who is missing/ducking/chicken here and who here wasn't at AGS. AGS was fairly balanced and IMO actually was a little more left tilting for many years. The PB here looks EXACTLY like the PB at AGS did. And I'd argue before the mass exodus, this place was FAR more right than AGS used to be.danefan wrote:I tend to agree with YT that the vocal part of the AGS PW flew way right after the exodus of the people posting here. As far as this IRS thing goes, I do not think it wise to respond to the tyranny represnted by the IRS as well as the system in administers through violence. The proper approach is to work to convince others to change the system through the political process and eliminate the IRS in that way if possible. There is no possibility of eliminating the tyrnanny of the IRS and the system it administers through things like crashing airplanes into buildings.
As for the whole AGS thing, there's one poster in particular that I know on AGS and am aware of his other Avatar on his team's home page that had probably the most zealous opinion of any poster I've read (but not much substance to back it up) that doesn't come over here because (I think) he doesn't want to face the likes of conservatives with different opinions such as ASUMountaineer who will cross examine that zealousness to where he can ultimately admit to defeat (Kind of like the DADT thread) and the likes of Kalm and other liberals who can give more substantive arguments (not that I agree with them). I'm not revealing/ confirming his identity (I guess you could say it's an honor thing)...and no it's not Native, he's over here a lot and I just wanted to clarify that b/c some of you may know we bumped heads in the poli wing before

And that probably would never have happened if the society hadn't decided to engage in attacks upon liberty and people like you wouldn't have consented to being the "heavies" needed to engage in the attacks. Society has no legitimate business telling a woman that she can't sell sex nor does it have any legitimate business telling people they can't use recreational drugs. And if society wasn't doing that most of the violent crime associated with both protstitution and drugs would not be taking place. And if there weren't people out there who are willing to function as the "heavies" to enforce the attacks upon liberty it wouldn't be happening either.Oh, I also forgot the dead prostitute in the woods stabbed through the liver over a rock of crack,

Re: Small plane crashes into Austin, TX office building
I was trying not to drag the conversation too far away from its orginal direction. But, if it's really important to you that I comment on the idea of a drug dealer killing a police officer, here it is:I just noticed that you never refuted my statement....total douchebaggery
Society is engaged in an immoral deprivation of liberty in the drug war. The fact that we have chosen, in a country founded on the idea of a Creator-bestowed right to Liberty and the pursuit of happiness, to tell people that they can't do recreational drugs if they want to is both tragic and counterproductive. It is my opinion that the overwhelming preponderance of violent crime associated with drug use exists because of the drug prohibition and the criminal activity if facilitates rather than the effects of the drugs themselves.
From my standpoint, no person with respect for Liberty consistent with the principles upon which this nation was founded would participate in prosecution of the drug war. What kind of person does it take to be willing to arrest somebody for smoking a joint in their own home? Not the kind I have a lot of respect for.
Now, the drug dealer that shot the cop is probably even worse. He is almost certainly a complete predator who, thanks to society's decision to attackLiberty, has found a lucrative "profession" he wouldn't have if the society was respecting Liberty as it should. The world would probably be better off without him.
But I still have difficulty summoning sympathy for anybody killed while engaged in government's prosecution of a war against Liberty and its own people.
There is a paradox here because cops are necessary. Somebody has to do it. But the fact that the people who do it have to enforce so many laws that are attacks upon Liberty makes it difficult to respect the people in that necessary role because I know they have to be willing to engage in those attacks upon Liberty.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

Re: Small plane crashes into Austin, TX office building
So your point is that its the cops fault? perfect logic, let the murderers run rampid! society is at fault for allowing such laws to be in place. the point is that cops are there to maintain order. they dont choose what laws are just, they only inforce it.JohnStOnge wrote:And that probably would never have happened if the society hadn't decided to engage in attacks upon liberty and people like you wouldn't have consented to being the "heavies" needed to engage in the attacks. At the same time, if you are going to take that job, you know that you may be called upon to do things like arrest a woman for selling sex or arrest a person for possession of marijuana. You know that part of the job is being called upon to assault Liberty in such ways. To me, no person with true respect for Liberty would take the job.So your point is that its the cops fault? perfect logic, let the murderers run rampid! society is at fault for allowing such laws to be in place. the point is that cops are there to maintain order. they dont choose what laws are just, they only inforce it.
Like I said, it's a paradox. Cops do do good things and they are necessary. But I have no respect for the type of person who would be willing to particpate in doing something like arresting somebody for something like posession of marijuana. Again, a person with respect for Liberty would never do that no matter how much someone offered to pay them. And they're not even paid much.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

Re: Small plane crashes into Austin, TX office building
by that logic we should start killing defense attornies. afterall they are needed in society but eventually they will be called to do something that is against liberty, which would be defending a guilty party until they are found innocent. the process itself is not injust but the fact that we let people who commit crimes walk free is unjust. by your logic they should be prepared to do this and shoud suffer the consequences of that choice. so would it be acceptable to kill Johnnie cochran for defending the likes of michael jackson and oj simpson...afterall he's a white collar t(i typed this all on a phone so iM feeling pretty awesome regardless of the rebuttal)JohnStOnge wrote:As I said, cops are necessary.
