I own guns. I'm not anti-gun. But in Texas I don't need a background check or registration. I think that people will get guns if they want but it will help to know that it is harder for people with a criminal history or mental illness to get them. Clearly a ban doesn't work because pot is illegal and easy to get.

While the complete specifics of what the guy in Connecticut had for weapons is not yet known, let me ask this.

Does anyone in this country need an Automatic Rifle with a 100 round clip like the shooter in Aurora had? What reason could anyone have to need that?


This discussion our country needs to, and will undertake now is not about banning all guns, it will be about better gun control and banning weapons and accessories such as fully automatic rifles and 100 round clips.

In the eight years since the Automatic Weapons Ban expired when the Republican controlled Congress refused to renew it, mass shootings in the United States have nearly tripled.

Do you not understand what it takes to get a fully automatic rifle? Really, do you? Don't talk about things that you know NOTHING about. I could probably take up a collection so we could send you to china or japan or korea or wherever, to get you idiots out of this country one at a time.

Of course this doesn't include the thousands and thousands hurt and killed by your dirt shovels, your plastic shovel (and pail), and grain shovels just to name a few. We will never forget those lost in the infamous chicken slaughter in Alameda in 2011.

No problem. I did see the silliness in saying tougher registration doesn't stop people from getting guns. But I do think it does for those that don't have access from say a parent. But something will shake out of this.

Fix that problem and much of these mass shooting will disappear...

We have a problem in this country of going after the wrong issue to fix problems...

Like wanting more taxes when we have a spending problem...like passing something like 0bamacare before doing Tort Reform...like going after legal gun owners instead of fixing access to mental health records to prevent people like the Arizona and Colorado shooters from even getting weapons...

Because they don't sell. So congratulations, sensationalist media, you've just lit the fire for someone to top this and knock off a day care center or a maternity ward next.
