How about you boys come play and tell us all how this happened?

"The structure of this biological machine is conceptually similar to an engineer's blueprint, and it explains how each of the parts in this complex assemble into a functional complex that efficiently identifies viral DNA when it enters the cell," Wiedenheft said. "This surveillance machine consists of 12 different parts and each part of the machine has a distinct job. If we're missing one part of the machine, it doesn't work."

I'll throw you a bone Cid6.93

How exactly does evolution provide us with a machine that consists of 12 different parts and each part is required? You would have to say that evolution created the first part and prayed to God it wasn't deleted because it didn't work...then it created the second part, and prayed to God it wasn't deleted, etc, etc.

This is called irreducible complexity. Many an evolutionist has tried to debunk it, but they have not proven their ideas are correct. Just speculation.

Board presence? Practically everyone ignores me now. New material is scarce. It's so bad, I recently composed a help request thread for buying a real unicorn. Fucking pathetic.

In a desperate attempt to come up with a really cool thread, this past weekend I videoed myself blowing my head off with a shotgun. Had everything set up, pulled the trigger and nothing...had the fucking safety on, like a dumbass. Could my luck get any worse?

Anyway, I turned it off, and was just about to pull the trigger and I suddenly realized that if i kill myself, I won't be able to actually post the thread and witness the joy from other posters.

So here I am, playing bit roles in trivial skirmishes. Yawn. The only thing keeping my interest is that Tman still seems to feel the need to get the last word in after a successful troll by myself, or infinitely better -by houndawg.

Well, he took $10,000 from me and sent this:

"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

I remember reading somewhere that there is vastly more evidence supporting Evolution than there is evidence that supports that Jesus existed...?

Which makes me wonder:
Why so much energy is exerted fighting the obviousness of evolution and not investigating ones own beliefs?

The problem with people like you is that you can't seem to comprehend that simply having skepticism about evolution doesn't make you a Jesus-freak or a fire and brimstone Fundy. Like I said earlier, it's interesting how much energy you have put into this thread but think my thread about AI is a bait thread.

Who is really afraid to challenge their beliefs here? I bet I have more credulity for dualism and creation theory.

Exactly. Even SeattleGriz readily admits he believes evolution.

And, Pwns.... having an open mind is great. But, the key is being able to think critically and draw conclusions.

Otherwise... we'd all be expandspanos with an incredibly open mind... but, unable to sort through the bullshit.

Until someone comes up with a better theory than evolution (and no, ID isn't it), I'm pretty much going to accept it and move on with life. It's a free country and you can question it all you want, but it seems like an exercise in futility to me.
