The Wakanda thing was a parody she did for the Colbert Show almost a year ago. Apparently the always credible Gateway Pundit went fake news with it.

I see you basically copied and pasted one of your posts from 2016 saying Trump has no chance, lol.

Sure the donks would win if they came out with a moderate platform. But you’re forgetting that the donks are going to go full retard trying to out left one another to win the nomination:
-Anti capitalism, pro socialism, pro globalism.
-Doubling income taxes.
-Increasing every tax/fee the fed govt levies.
-Single payer medicare for all.
-“Free” pre school for all.
-4 years “free” college tuition for all.
-Massive carbon taxes.
-Eliminating fossil fuels.
-Eliminating ICE.
-Mass amnesty for 11-20 million illegals.
-Open borders.
-$15 hour federal minimum wage (including for teens working their 1st low/no skill job & living at home with mommy & daddy).
-Massive increase in the welfare state.
-Guaranteed income.
-Repealing the 2nd Amendment.
-Implementing so called “assault weapons” ban.
-National gun registration database.
-Federally taxing ammo.
-Getting soft on crime.
-Eliminating the death penalty.
-Abortion on demand.
-Eliminating the Electoral College.
-Attacking/demonizing straight white males.
-Incessant Trump bashing.
-Impeaching Trump.
-2020 version of “Deplorables”.

And whatever other nutty lefty ideas I left off. And that platform likely won’t win a general election vs Trump.
By then trump/Pence will be in prison and Nancy Pelosi will be measuring drapes in the Oval Office..

Harris is giving a pretty good speech right now. I don't agree with much of it in terms of substance but she's got a good hook. Her thing is "Let's speak truth."

So she says "Let's speak truth..." then goes on with some statement related to some issue. She's doing pretty well with this "Let's speak truth" schtick.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

Ok. In watching Harris I would be terrified of her if it wasn't for the need to get rid of Trump. We'll see how it works out. We'll see if she can get through the Democrat primaries. But if she does and there aren't some unknown skeletons to come out:

She's got "it." She'll be formidable.

Ex Starbucks CEO announcing his run for president on 60 Minutes tonight. Claims he’s a “centrist independent”, but here are his positions:

* FOR the Paris Climate Accord
* FOR citizenship for 11 million illegals
* FOR healthcare for all (“every American has the RIGHT to healthcare”)

Sure sounds like a left-wing looney to me...

All I took from that segment is that he would probably siphon a few Democrat voters but wouldn't scratch Trump's base at all.

You should be rooting for him.

By the way, wrong thread for this. He's not running as a Dem.

I like Shultz, but he has NO chance in this two-party system, unfortunately. I hope Kasich runs as an R.

Just a question: you don't believe every American has the right to healthcare?

Really?

This is supposed to be the greatest country on earth. You'd let poor sick people just fucking die?

I'd be interested in seeing which post you are talking about. There was a time early on where I thought Trump had no chance in a general election but it was not because of polls. It was because he is such a horrific moral atrocity that I did not think White Evangelical Christians would vote for him in the general election. But I think that was during 2015 after he first came out.

Once we got heavy into 2016 and it became clear that White Evangelical Christians were not rejecting him as I thought they would I was not at all confident that Trump could not win. And I'm not saying he can't win in 2020. But he is not a strong candidate. Just about anybody the Democrats nominate should have a reasonable chance to beat him. And if they nominate a good candidate the chance will be really good.
Sure the donks would win if they came out with a moderate platform. But you’re forgetting that the donks are going to go full retard trying to out left one another to win the nomination:

-Eliminating the Electoral College.
The idea of eliminating the Electoral College and going to direct popular vote is not "retard" and enjoys public support. If the Democrats really do push for that they will be pushing for a popular action. The most recent poll I can find with a quick Google search on that is described at https://www.prri.org/research/american- ... tion-2018/.

It's from July 2018. You have to scroll down some but as you do you will find this:
By roughly a two-to-one margin, Americans say they would prefer if presidential elections were decided by the national popular vote as opposed to the Electoral College. Nearly two-thirds (65%) of Americans believe that presidential elections should be decided based on the national popular vote, while about one-third (32%) believe they should be decided through the Electoral College.
Also, the arguments I've seen for having an Electoral College system for electing a President are invalid in today's context. No reason to have it now.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?
