The Senate has the advise and consent role given to them in the Constitution - if Trump can't get some candidates through even a friendly Senate then the Senate shouldn't run away and not do their Constitutional duty. Recess appointments were for when it took a month by horse to get back to Washington. We can do better.
It’s all up to Thune and Senate R’s. If both houses agree to 3 day or greater adjournment, Trump can and almost certainly will. You know Mike Johnson is on board.
Based on McConnell’s handling of Trump, I’m guessing it will happen under Thune.
The worst of these appointments is either shear stupidity or it’s truly going to be a burn it all down attempt by Trump-Musk.
