You know, really, the society ought to be telling people who were born male that they're male no matter what they do and people who are born female that they are female no matter what they do. If a guy wants to lop off his pecker and pretend to be a female he should be free to do it. And if a girl wants to have her tits removed and do hormone injections and maybe try to fabricate a penis they should be free to do it.

But the society doesn't have to humor them. Or at least it shouldn't have to. We go WAY too much out of our way to make these looney tunes feel validated. We shouldn't be validating sick ****.

You can think whatever you want, but it's also my choice if I'd like to "validate" their choice (not that it needs validation). And I choose to accept it. Most members of American society think that way too, so since you're always about the majority opinion, I guess transgenders have been "validated" by society.

And what is the difference between gender dysphoria and regular dysphoria? There are people who mortgage away their retirements and take on large amounts of debt to get all kinds of plastic surgeries because they hate themselves. What makes gender dysphoria only curable with a sex change but regular body dysphoria something only curable by therapy?

As I've read it, the two are completely separate items. People with body dysmorphia don't perceive their physical features correctly while those with gender dysmorphia do (a transgendered person understands their physical features correctly).

I'm not a doctor or researcher, but it seems like one is a mental disconnect with your body while the other is a physical disconnect with your mentality.

In one sense I do in that I believe in following the Constitution and I think that, on the big issues, that would result in eventually settling on what the majority wants.

But in terms of what is right or wrong, what is wise or unwise, not at all. Like for instance I think that if the majority in each State had decided to recognize homosexual marriage that would be consistent with the way things are supposed to work. But it would still be ridiculous.

And this thing with pandering to sick people with gender identity problems is also ridiculous whether the majority recognize it as such or not. Whether you are male or female is an objective determination. It's not impacted by what you THINK you are. If you're a male and think you're a female that doesn't make you a female and it never will. It just makes you a sick puppy.

BTW I suspect that, in any case and at least right now, the majority would say that we shouldn't allow males who are confused about their sexuality go into female public bathrooms. What we have right now is the Justice Department proceeding according to an "interpretation" that's clearly not consistent with what was intended by those who wrote the language they're referring to.
