Besides the lock down, it's also telling to he wanted to use Giuliani - his personal attorney - for what Trump claims to be a legitimate investigation. This whole thing smells like a crime and cover-up attempt.
That's cool. I just hope they get him to resign quickly, but that's probably wishful thinking on my part.

I'm hoping we can somehow get a decent human being on one of the two major party tickets for next fall, but that is probably pie in the sky. The Dems have nobody credible, and we know Trump is an epic POS.

I like how Barr is colluding with Trump to cover this up.

The Dems know Barr is trying to get to the bottom of Russia collusion.

Right, Barr is Trumps lackey.

Why doesn't he appoint a special counsel? Or, is that Guiliani, just in an unofficial capacity? Or just Barr doing it in his free time? :?

He has Durham investigating for him. The Russia collusion story starts with the hacking of DNC emails.
This is why Crowdstrike is important.

By the way, this is why when Mueller was in front of committees, he had to clarify his statements in his afternoon session, because the judge on Stones case told him to quit saying "the Russians hacked the DNC", because he had no proof.

https://amgreatness.com/2019/06/19/russ ... rike-ruse/

I actually posted this weeks ago in the Russia megathread when Stone brought this up as his latest defense ploy.
I was wrong on this part about Mueller. It was he wasn't allowed to mention Russian companies, but he did have to correct his statement.

Durham isn't a special counsel and lacks one's investigative power. But, why doesn't he make him special counsel instead of having Guiliani working haphazzardly an an unofficial capacity. :coffee:

Giuliani is such an idiot in all of this. The man leaves politics as a well-liked figure. Perhaps he wasn't liked by everyone, but he definitely wasn't hated or anything.

And now, like Trump, he'll be remembered as scum of American history.

Welp, he’ll be remembered as the anti-John Dean, that’s for sure. I hope Rudy got his money up front, because he’s going to need it to pay his own lawyers.

Still true - if that's a classic mafia shakedown, then we all deserve an apology from Hollywood for making them out to be far more dramatic and powerful than that one was.

As for Ivy's comment, hey, I don't think he checked his WASP privilege at the door when he went to mafia-references regarding Guiliani. But I don't think Italians are a protected class so he's probably in the clear with that. :coffee:

Why do we need another special counsel, I believe Durham has grand jury power, doesn't he?

Oh, and with that said, Guiliani was doing a heckuva lot of travelling for a an older guy. Guy was getting around.

It's a memo; not a transcript. The transcript hasn't been released, and is likely on lockdown, been moved to a different server, or completely destroyed despite all the promises to release it.

Of course the whistle blower had concerns about that too:

I get that you are saying the transcript is not the entire conversation, but it is still a transcript.

And why would they move it to a secure server? How many private conversations of Obama's were released? I can now think of three phone calls of Trump with other leaders now having been released.

Those releasing this information I hope are caught and prosecuted. It is not their job to dictate policy. We already have people who's job it is to listen in on the President's calls.

It said it was a memorandum, but the definition of a transcript is simply to transcribe from one medium to another. I already said I got what you were saying in regards to it not being 100% word for word.

They need to release it, as promised, wherever they're storing it.

The complaint even goes as far as saying the word-for-word transcript is being locked down because White House officials knew the gravity of the situation.
